MPC 3.0 How will NI respond?

I think NI really needs to draw a line in the sand and choose a collection of software to bring forward on a new platform…like Roland does every 5 or so years and release new versions of anything that doesn’t port properly over time rather than keeping everything alive at the expense of not progressing the hardware or ecosystem. Ironically, Maschine needs a “JJOS moment” to wake the Company up to what the actual community is expecting from this product line.

as NI announced a 3.0 software update in this forum, i got a little excited and looked up some specs of a newer version of the intel atom processor. im not an expert at all so i just searched for basic similarities (size, price, tdp etc.).
this is the one they are currently using (Q4,16) (90% sure) in maschine+
Intel Atom® x7-E3950 Prozessor
Multithread Rating: 2096
Single Thread Rating: 742and here is a newer version (Q1,23) they could be using for a next version of maschine+
Intel Atom® x7425E Prozessor
Multithread Rating: 5570
Single Thread Rating: 2040i know its not a simple one on one comparison, but newer versions of those atom chips have more than double the power, same TDP and only a small increase of price. of course, this is all pure speculation and like i said, not by any means i do have a clue about processors or coding at all.. ;)

In a weird way I feel like me Maschine is a the real iteration of the classic MPCs and not the new MPCs from InMusic. The Maschine layout and workflow feel closer to the OG MPCs somehow.

From like 8 years ago, they had a whole song mode fleshed out with better integration with Maschine Jam then the company changed hands and all the promised updates never happened. The old forum had thread upon thread on it.

I wonder if they will kill the Jam with Maschine 3.0.

They won’t. My Jam is like my third lung.

I feel you. But they have done nasty-in-the-pasty.
Let’s ask!
Is Maschine Jam the past of the sound when Maschine 3.0 will be out?
And how about KK Sxx MkI?

Really hope that future Maschine software updates don’t kill Jam integration.
I can live without new shortcuts or firmware updates, but I hope it keeps working with Maschine and Maschine+

Forget :) In my opinion they will not be continue the idea of standalone anymore. Only controllers + software.

We can't really comment on a product that is not released yet but I passed on your concerns to the responsible teams.

It looks to be a philosophy question. NIs philosophy is built around the resource demanding plugins, not the capable hardware. Standalone was not their business, it was a trial for their business.
While the concept is good (M+ is great actually), infrastructure however is not focused on it. KK MK3 is an example for that. Which is good (definitely not bad). Every company/product is different.
NI is loosing some market already, but it also gets new users. So I guess balance for business is good already. But Jam MK2 with DAW support (eg Live) could be a great thing. Maybe even standalone just like APC64… forget, just dreaming :)

Thank you! Let’s hope it is addressed properly.

That's what FL Studio did. There used to be an integer war between major DAWs, all trying to release the next increment to look more pro. Then one day FL said "all set homies" and skipped right to v21 from v12 just because.
They called it an anniversary update or something but it was a hilarious middle finger to all the guys. It really made the entire industry stop giving a s$it.
