Hi,

I see some artists like Alfred Heinrichs, who is a absolut pro in Traktor and he wirks with 2 Track Decks and 2 Remix Decks aka 2 Kontrol X1 MK3 and a Kontrol F1.

I want to build somthing similar and I was wondering, whats a good structire of a Remix Set, do you have some ideas or best practises or even you know how Alfred Heinrichs is working?

Thx

It all boils down to what can be played at any one time from a Remix Set.

You can only play one sample from each vertical row 16 of samples (4 Pages of 4 samples per page) at any one time. That means a maximum of 4 samples/loops playing together.

So you need to arrange things in vertical rows, grouping similar sample types.

For example - you are not likely to want to have 2 samples playing at the same time that are both acapellas. So, one of your vertical rows would be a row of acapellas.

You're also not likely to play 2 different drum loops - so one vertical row could be for drum loops. You might have a separate percussion row if your drum loops are mostly kick/snare combos, though.

Your Remix Set is also 4 Pages "high". So, within those pages, you might want to sensibly group what you can see in each page at any one time.

But, it is really about what you want to be able to do. Remix Sets are so versatile that they have many, many use cases.

I could talk about this all day…

(That guy you mentioned is also using 1 of his F1's as a step sequencer…)

Thanks for the great input, that helps a lot.

How can I use a stepsequenzer in Traktor, or is this another program?
