    Fwiw, Battery is completely useless with silicon-Macs. Patches are not recalled properly, there's no way to relocate samples, etc. So, while it might still work under Windows, under macOS it's absolutely messed up.

    Let alone it's been a huge (!) step back compared to Battery 3 already.

    And as far as hardware support goes: Well, make your code public domain so people can take care of it.

    And as far as Kore goes, it didn't even remotely live for 20 years and there was no successor, either. So in case you were building things around it, you'd lose them completely.

    Yeah, understood, had no idea how messed up Battery is on a (Silicon) Mac. Really sorry to hear, seems not even old projects can still be properly loaded up for you. I know it's a feature downgrade from Battery 3, admittedly.

    I'm experiencing the same issue and it's becoming nonsense.

    I use Kontakt 7 whenever possible, but I have 456456456 projects that use Kontakt 6 or previous versions. And things keep breaking and Kontakt instances in old projects stop working. There should be a single plugin called Kontakt and it should be backwards compatible. Having a total new plugin every year or so and everything using older versions including projects and host presets etc breaking up is making a big big big mess.

    Every bit this. They even started it with Kontakt 6 (which, at least under macOS, shows up as a bare "Kontakt" without version number) but gave up again. What a lousy affair.

    Also in case of old projects with Kontakt 6 using libraries like Hybrid Keys, Kontakt 6 is not finding the samples anymore and when you manually direct to the samples, it opens up in DEMO mode. This is definitely an artificial limitation pushed on us. All Kontakt 6 needs there is the sample files to play the sound. So I agree that it's very lousy affair.
