That doesn't sound very encouraging, because it could mean several months of downtime...
What annoys me the most is that everything was going fine and a stupid update messed it all up.

    Sorry to hear that. :(
I think there's a way to downgrade your system but it's kind of hard to do?? I'm not sure. I wonder if you can go into the recovery mode in Terminal and do some administrative hard drive wipes and get it back to an early state (I remember old Intel Macs were like that, idk about Apple Silicon), that is of course, after you first backup your system.

Also, if there's a new macOS beta version, you can try that too. Before 14.5 came out, I took Jeremy's advice from this thread and ran the beta and that also fixed the problem for me.

I used to install betas too, I'm even in the developer program, but I don't want them on my main computer. Plus, you never know what to look for - everything often seems to work, and then you open one plugin out of the 1000 you use and it does this...
As for downgrading, it's possible, but it's a pain, and I don't feel like doing it either - I have a relatively new, fresh installation where everything was finally working, until now. :)

Yeah I understand. I don't really know what to suggest other than what I've already suggested. Hopefully you can find a solution. Only other thing I can say is I highly recommend getting an Apple senior advisor involved (elevated support). They might be able to at least look at your crash reports in more detail. If not, then try submitting your issue to Apple's developer feedback forum.
If none of that, then see if you can temporarily (or permanently) work on a different machine/hardware that you know works.

I hope this may be of help.

I have experienced the crash/reboot problem when Guitar Rig 7 and VLC player are both open at the same time.

What causes the crash is when VLC comes to the end of the file or playlist it was playing or if I manually quit VLC while Guitar Rig 7 is open.

    My system is as follows:

    Guitar Rig 7 (free version)

    VLC 3.0.20

    MAC OS 14.4.1 Sonoma

MAC Mini M2 pro (16GB RAM, 512GB SSD)

    Hello,

Thank you for your tip. Unfortunately, my issue persists with every other app closed, even in the standalone version of Kontakt 7.

I got Kontakt 7 working for the very first time without crashes now with 7.10.5. (One round of successful tests so far.). Sonoma 14.5. M2 Max Mac Studio. NI Support was helping and replying by email every day and we were not making any progress until suddenly 7.10.5 via Native Access worked. (Native Access would fail previous Kontakt 7 installations among other issues I had.). Thanks to NI Support.

That's awesome! Woohoo! I recently saw their thread about the explanation of the updates; this seems to be a part of that. I'm glad the new version fixed it so far!

    Hi.

So far I had two KP when dragging the K7 VST3 plug-in tab from the external DELL S2715H to the MacBook Pro M1 16" Retina + Sonoma. Not sure if the issue is related to Kontakt or to Studio One 6.6.1 or the external display, but it has definitely to do with K7.

As a secondary issue, sometimes the K7 plug-it tab shows an annoying flickering after dragging from one screen to the other (no difference which screen).

The Dell is connected to the MacBook via USB hub + HDMI cable.

Unfortunately I can't give any specific instruction to replicate the issue, as it happens at random, apparently not related to a specific sequence of actions. But I sent the crash report to Apple.

@Coqui You should also get in touch with our Kontakt specialists (link above) so maybe they can help.
