Maschine already contains are large, yet incomplete, selection of MIDI mappings for external devices in the Sounds and Groups, tagged as 'Midi Ext'.

I have started a repository, which is supposed to fill the gaps left by Native Instruments.

Please check it out, freely download and contribute if you can :)

Nice work. I've been wanting to pull out my XD module for a while and watched the XD video and can see it's uses in a live scenario, or recording into a DAW. Do you know if it's possible to route the audio back into the M+ and record it?

It looks like the routing can be done, but presumably that allows one just to mute and unmute, or is it also possible to record/sample? https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014070578-MASCHINE-Setting-Up-MIDI-Presets-to-Control-External-Hardware-Instruments

    hey @Jiglo .

Yes, you can definitely sample back into Maschine. Just plug the audio from the XD back into the Maschine Line In and then sample from that.

Thank you, my brain isn't working today and it isn't mentioned in the Product Support page.

Looks like a much more worthy mission now I can see much more potential.

Is there a best practice mapping guide to show how it's all done?

@Jiglo Especially for the minilogue XD. Just follow the video that is linked on the github page.

Otherwise you just load it as a Sound and then you can select the Minilogue Midi channel as an output. You can then sequence and play the Synth fromm the Maschine and record automation through the macros.

    You'll work it out !!

Oh! Great timing! I've been slowly working on mappings for some of my hardware over the last couple of weeks. It's taking a bit of time as I'm trying to map things naturally as I use them so that everything is grouped in a way that makes sense.

It's not a lot, but I'll make sure to submit them next week or the week after.

    So far it's just:

    - Sequential Six-Trak

    - Roland Sound Canvas 8850 (should work fine for most sound canvas modules)

    - Korg Wavestate

    - Dirty Wave M8 (general parameters, mixer, envelopes/lfos, Mutable Braids/Macro Synth + Wave Oscillator)

@Vulpes_Vulpes Hey that's amazing! You can either do a pull request and become a contributor on the repo or just post them here and I'll add them, and credit you, of course! Would that be ok?

I think having all these mappings make the Maschine a much better sequencer brain for a dawless setup right out of the box.
