Who would you love to see an Artist Expansion from, or a collaboration with?

I would kind of prefer less frequent expansions but with more content as-well as content diversity, more presets, multi sampled Sampler patches, drum synth presets, etc.. A couple of extra bucks to compensate would be fine for me.

The release cycle has been so frequent that I don't even check whats new anymore, seems very rinse and repeat, theres tons of odd decisions like really badly sliced samples that will go off beat if you change the BPM because a single sample has 2 hit-hats or something like that, considering we dont know the BPM of a kit/Group before loading this makes no sense.

On most of the projects / kits you can clearly tell the content was not made on Maschine, it was made in DAW and sliced up or looped to fit, collabing with known musicians that actually use MAS would be better IMO, or get some experts in the Internal sound design team to oversee it.

I agree, Expansions catered exclusively to Maschine+ might be cool. Like just a pack full of presets for all the synths and fx onboard, and MIDI grooves like what you can buy for Addictive Drummer 2

That would be very cool but I cant think of a single reason see that would have to be only for M+ and leave out the majority of the userbase.

leave out the majority of the userbase

It wouldn't, because all the synths and plugins onboard M+ are also in the desktop software.

At the moment, almost everything that comes out won't work on the M+.

I've got a few recent Expansions and the only Expansion that I know won't load as an Expansion on a M+ (standalone) is Prismatic Bliss. That's about 2 years old. There's the Massive X Expansions too, but that's no surprise that they're incompatible given Massive X will probably never be compatible with the M+ processor. There may be others that i've missed which don't interest me, but reading the requirements of the most recent that I haven't got says that they're "optimized for M+" so they should be fine.

They're not "optimized for M+" though, not by any means.. Many of them are bloated with redundant fx chains and the CPU takes a serious hit as soon as you load a group like that in standalone mode. I frequently need to "purge" factory content groups by removing unnecessary fx

There was one expansion I remember which included some REX files, which can't be used on the Plus. Unfortunately that then meant the entire expansion wasn't installable on the Plus.

You'd think NI would offer a Plus specific version, so Plus users could install the expansion.

Interesting. I do have some duplicate sounds, so there must be some recycling.

Yes, Prismatic Bliss is the one. They do say it isn't compatible with M+ in standalone mode on it's page and it's the only one, I think.

I have the samples folder for Prismatic Bliss in my user files, it loses 19 Prizm sounds and 31 Massive sounds which is a shame and I also deleted the Battery content, which is of no use to me on the +. I bought it as part of a promotion, and knew it wasn't compatible, so c'est la vie.

Maybe an extra level of QC is needed on the Expansions then, but they're still the best available imo when they stir something inside me, just because they're a lot more than sample packs.

I've been hitting Free Form and Higher Place a lot recently and really enjoying making music.

A lot of, or maybe most of the best producers and artists have engineers and assistants setting up their equipment for them. In hip hop producers buy beats, John Carpenter pretty much just played his gear while his tech guy set up his synths and equipment, etc etc etc. I see these as a lot like that, so to me there's no shame in getting prepared hits, synths and instruments that often don't need much tweaking to get them better fitting into my own music.

After seeing a vid of theirs in the "..Possible to scratch on Maschine...?" thread and only just becoming aware of them, i'd like to add Blue Lab Beats.

They have a lot of flavour and a really cool vibe that I love and definitely know how to work the Maschine. They don't seem to know how to make bad music too as I like everything i've heard by them since. 😎

It would be cool to see Kpop producers like Teddy, LOREN

There is a sound from massive named ”scratchmaster” and prolly just like any other instrument you could prolly play the strips like strumming, so look that preset up.

You can easily copy the Massive and Prism presets to the User Content folder on the SD card as well. You can put them under NI/User Content/Massive/Prismatic Bliss and Prism/Prismatic Bliss respectively. Maybe it would also work in Ni/User Content/Prismatic Bliss/[Massive|Prism].

(Should try that myself, as I own that Expansion as well)

I'd like to see an AJ Hall/Frank Dukes expansion. That would be tasty for my needs. Make it so N.I!
