Traktor 3 record button greyed out

Finding this one to be really frustrating - i can hear audio and i can see it seems to be hitting the audio recorder, but the "record" button when i click on the tape at the side is greyed out. Any ideas what i'm doing wrong here?

I've really searched around for a while and cant find any threads to help with this.

They are my own tracks - in WAV format imported via itunes

What gear are you using?

Can yo show us screenshots of settings -> Output routing

and

settings -> Mix recorder

Macbook pro m1 - might also be worth flagging im using the demo (i dont have any issue paying if i can test out the recording first - its the main utility for me). I'm under the impression the demo has the full functionality it just drops out after 30 minutes of use. Rekordbox works fine for recording - just tested but traktor feels like a better product to me.

I am not sure if I know enough about this so forgive me for asking , but is the Global setting set to show ? (it says it is supposed to be)

yep - i can see it - i just can't actually press anything because its grey instead of red! (thanks - there are no bad questions when your trying to help :D )

I think you need to route the master output and then it should work.

It looks like i can either have a master output or a record output but i cant have both?

You don't need to map the record output. Just the master.
