X1MK3: Browser View And Performance MOD (qml coding)

What you see at the moment is what the NI team decided would displease the fewest customers. It worked differently in TP 3.11.1. I have already discussed this with a few people privately and i am not quite sure myself which is the best way. The idea under discussion was and is this: should the arrow buttons reflect the fx units below it or should they reflect the decks below it? Should the left/right orientation reflect the left/right orientation of the FX, or the left/right orientation of the decks? My own preference (coming from D2's 4 instead of 2 buttons) was, to have the side left arrows control assignments for the left side FX unit, assigning deck A and B always (deck C and D using SHIFT), like the D2, keeping the AB (top) CD (bottom) orientation if the decks in the Traktor GUI.
I am not sure how it is working at the moment and will need to check next time i start up Traktor.
Edit: I think i will make the arrow buttons not be FX assignments in Mixer Mode and instead use them for the stem overlay. The less SHIFT+ functions the better. And it's not useful to be able to toggle FX assignments in Mixer Overlay without actually having the FX controls.

hmm, looks like I didn't copy all the files properly, but its still not quite right.
with the setting enabled, knob 2 controls Low, and with shift controls MidLow
with the setting disabled it only controls Low with or without shift

This is how it is supposed to work.

ahh, was hoping that one of the settings would give me midlow on knob2 and low with shift, ie the opposite. Maybe my requirement is niche, but I control low on the F1, so knob2 would be better for midLow without having to use shift

yes, I think you're idea makes more sense. they currently reflect the decks below, but to me it intuitley makes more sense to reflect the effects below it and assign to the left right deck. I've got no previous traltpr controller background, do no idea how different that would be, but after months of use I still find myself getting in a muddle

I see. I can do that.
You are not alone. ^^

Yes, having the fx screens show all gain/eq and stem filters whilst 'idle' would be a great improvement.
Get what you are saying re the horizontal channel meters, would this work as a compromise for the centre screen in Mixer mode? just thinking it might give you more vertical height than the out of the box visualisation0 -
Here we go. Setup menu rearranged for the new toggle. Had to remove the Only 2FX Units toggle, but you can still access it in Preferences→Effects.
I leave further screen shenanigans to a later date. I will most likely make MidLow always ON using shift, without shift when LOW SHIFTED is selected, to make room for two versions of FX assignments, one deck oriented, one FX Unit oriented. Most likely at a later date as well.
So unless there are bugs you can find, this is going to be the next release.
Edit: I think i will make the arrow buttons not be FX assignments in Mixer Mode and instead use them for the stem overlay. The less SHIFT+ functions the better. And it's not useful to be able to toggle FX assignments in Mixer Overlay without actually having the FX controls.
Edit: And so i did. Try here:

Looking good thank you!
only thing really missing for now is some sort of centre screen distinction between fx pages. With 4 fx units there is no visual indicator between whether your on units 1&2, or 3&4 other than looking at the effects actually loaded

That shouldn't be hard, much like the 'A'-'Meters'-'B' on the MODE screen for mixer overlay.

+1 on this idea!
Also, it would be nice to have easy access to the Tempo Range. I have this mapped separately, but would be a nice addition. Only thing I could think of was mapping it to Sync + Shift + Loop Encoder or possibly Sync + Nudge buttons?0 -
I'll keep that in mind. Although there is really no need to adjust the Tempo Range of the tempo faders. SYNC+LOOP ENCODER already adjust BPM with absolute values and is limited only by Traktor's complete range from 40 BPM to 300 BPM.

I didn't actually know that! I thought it was limited to the range that the tempo slider actually showed. Thanks for that!

Serious NOTE: Stem controls of the BETA version only work correctly in AB or CD configuration of decks. Working on a solution.
In FX overlay (primary or secondary) the MODE screen already shows the # of the FX Unit.

Ok, here's my feedback.
I'd much prefer the 4x EQs utilised the 4 dials, without having to hold SHIFT. Otherwise swapping bass etc on two tracks simultaneously would be quite difficult. I'd be happy to hold shift to adjust gain and use the filter.
I haven't managed to enable STEMS mode at all yet.
Could you explain again which is button 4 that I press with SHIFT to enable that function? There's a possibility this is where my own mapping causes issues, id like to try yours out though.
