Vouchers... are they bugged?

Hey ya'll,

I picked up Komplete 14 Ultimate, and a Komplete Kontrol M32 controller. All's well, and cool, I get a voucher for $25 for each one. Found an expansion that wasn't included in Ultimate, looked good, voucher not accepted. Found a Massive X expansion, voucher not accepted. OK, I'll get a Kontakt library, voucher not accepted.

What gives? None of the items I tried to purchase were on sale today, I don't see them bundled anywhere. I followed the link in the email, I went straight to the store, nothing. Is there a list of stuff that you CAN use the vouchers for? I'm enjoying what I bought quite a bit, an expansion of my choosing would be nice, what's the deal with this? Thanks for any guidance, I've re-read the T&C a few times and have no clue why I'm being blocked from using the vouchers.

Before you waste something: "Massive X Expansion - Scene" is included in Komplete Ultimate since Komplete 13. You don't need to purchase it.

I'm not sure if PoorFellow is 100% correct on this, though. Or, maybe he is and that limitation only applies to specific products. I was able to use my voucher on Hazy Days - an Expansion that was also made in collaboration with someone else.

I think you should contact NI's support.

What I suspect is that there is a bug in their system, since I already seen this problem mentioned lately https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/14982/e-voucher-codes-dont-work-is-there-a-bug-or-something

The products I see chosen by you in your screenshots should all be eligible. They are NI softwares, not on offer, not part of a bundle and so on. The only thing you can’t do is trying to use more than one voucher on a single product, but since you said clearly you followed the T&C, you already know all of this.

Being them developed in collaboration with someone doesn’t cancel the fact that they are NI products (even because practically ALL late NI products are made in collaboration with someone…or even made BY someone entirely…).

As an example, I just used a voucher on Vocal Colors, made in collaboration with Galaxy Instruments.

As I said, in my opinion the products you chose are eligible and probably there is a malfunctioning not allowing you to buy them.

BTW: the vouchers ARE linked to your account. Are you trying to buy things with another account?

I don't know how to communicate this to you without becoming overly negative on your behalf.

The reason for that is that reading the 'voucher rules' then I can only find one possible reason for your problem. I will quote : "1. This e-voucher is valid on all Native Instruments software downloads available at the NI Online Shop." . What I am seeing as only possible reason for your voucher failing here would be if Native Instruments while stating rule plainly do not actually specify what it is that they do mean ! Problem would fit rules if rule is that voucher is valid for all Native Instruments software downloads but not valid for third party products sold on shop including 'collaborations' . But honestly if that is the case then think it mildly put too poor by N.I. if they can not manage to specify not valid for third party products sold on shop including 'collaborations' if that is indeed the case. But maybe you ought just contact support and ask them. Only if my 'suspicion' is correct then don't expect N.I. to bend the the rules when it comes to vouchers.

    Quote :

ARCANE ATTIC was created in collaboration with The BOOM Library.

SCHEMA: DARK was created in collaboration with pro sound and instrument designer Tobias Menguser.

One of my own earliest discussions in the N.I. forum were about how poor usability the N.I. vouchers had and the fact that there were next to nothing on shop that it could be used for without me having to cough up additional money. (you will see that they will give you a voucher saying $25 and then almost everything costs $29) So the voucher is for training purpose only , for training you in spending money in the shop more than actually giving you a gift. Mind you , that discussion did *not* exactly earn me any popularity back then as little as my attitude here probably will. So the expected attitude is , diplomatically put : Take you voucher and be happy with it !

Ref. Voucher rules in email , quote :

    1. This e-voucher is valid on all Native Instruments software downloads available at the NI Online Shop. It is NOT valid on updates, upgrades, crossgrades, edu licenses, hardware, or products that are part of a special offer. 2. The e-voucher is personalized and only for use by the appointed addressee/user. It is not transferable and may not be re-sold. 3. The e-voucher expires if not redeemed within six months after receipt. 4. If the total amount of the e-voucher is not redeemed, the holder is not entitled to payment of the remaining balance. 5. Only one e-voucher can be used per product. 6. The e-voucher may not be redeemed for cash.

Yikes! Komplete Ultimate has so much, I didn't spot that - thanks for the eye out.

Support seems like the right step, absolutely nothing is working, I had Standard before and had to sell it, when I had that I did get my vouchers used on Expansions no problem. I think it may be that the vouchers are linked to my account, and something's gone amiss there. Thanks for the support.

I was trying to purchase them on my account. NI got back to me very quickly and let me know my account was bugged a bit - I also didn't get the 2x PA coupons that are included with Komplete 14 Ultimate. Now, I've got 1 of my NI Vouchers, and 2 of my PA vouchers. Hopefully the 2nd voucher will come through quickly (for my Komplete Kontrol M32) and I'll be all set. Thanks for the tips and support guys, there is fine print but it's not that fine, hopefully I'll be picking up some good ones.

Congratulations ! And glad to hear that it was not a case of overly fine print that I were lead to believe prior to you disclosing the actual circumstances with other problems !
