Hi, is it possible to configure two assignable pedal inputs for pedals to trigger/play sounds? For example I would like to play kick drum sounds with pedals connected to the pedal inputs (when Kontakt drum instrument library is loaded).

First you copy the file, after unpacking it here: "C:\Users\your user name\Documents\Steinberg\Cubase\User Presets\Input Transformer" then you open cubase and go to the track where you have your drums loaded, look into the inspector on the left, there must be an entry like "input transformer" next to it activate it only for the track, then open the window via the same menu, in the next window click on "no preset" then "user preset" and you now should be able to select the "cc64 to midi note....." preset, in the lower zone where i entered c3 you can change the note as you need it to output, also value 2 you can narrow down or set it bigger like 90 - 127 instead of the 100 - 110, this is the velocity range it will output by chance. You can open a second one and change in the upper area the 64 to another controller for a second foot switch so you could trigger two instruments, then of course too set the output note accordingly in the lower zone. Hope that helps, if you need more help - just ask.

    Hello,

this is possible with kontakt scripting but not every instrument allows this as far as i know. For example with a script like that: Kontakt Script – MIDI CC to Key – OOMIND STUDIO or you maybe can script it yourself (1) Kontakt - Scripting: Convert Midi Control Change To Note Numbers - How To Tutorial - YouTube

@mraak47 You can only assign MIDI Control Change or MIDI Program Change with the pedals:

So you can't assign it to a MIDI note, like you would need to play your kick drum.

It might be possible to assign this MIDI information to Kontakt as @Uwe303 mentioned.

Hi, thanks for letting me know this. But Uwe303 said this is possible with kontakt scripting but not every instrument allows this. Just wonder, if I buy Kontakt Script – MIDI CC to Key from OOMIND STUDIO, will I be able to do this with your Kontakt library Studio Drummer?

With studio drummer it works to insert scripts, the script editor is not disabled button is there and not greyed out. If you use cubase you can also use the input transformer like this:

where 100 is velocity, you can change it as you like, you could even put in random value.

Hi, Uwe! That's great and thanks you so much for helping me out. Yes indeed I will be using Cubase but I am complete newbie when it comes to scripting. If it's not that hard to do, please could you let me know step by step how to do this and how to use the file you uploaded? Btw, as I am writing this, I am enjoying listening to your music. Very nice stuff 😉
