In my opinion the VirtualDJ method of separating kick and hi hat is not ideal. To me, kick and snare would make more sense. Does anyone ever solo or mute just hi hats? 🙄
The separation tends to affect the snare often anyway. If you mute hi hats, you're just left with the kick.
I think "drums" as a whole stem is preferable.

the MP4 file that Virtual DJ generates, unfortunately cannot be taken over to Traktor...
but you can load the VDJ mp4 into Audacity and save out the 4 stems as *.wav files
but that is a lot of fart arsing around when dealing with Stems
