Electric Mint -- Getting Midi notes into Guitar Pro, not just key switches

Hello.

First, I'm new to Native Instruments, virtual guitar plugins, and midi keyboards. Playing guitar on a keyboard, instead of my real guitar like i've been doing for several decades, is very much a new concept to me. I'm still trying to understand how Electric Mint works, so if my question is unclear, please forgive me.

What i'm trying to do:

  • I want the individual notes from the guitar phrases, not just the key switches, into Guitar Pro
  • I want to create a score of all the notes that are being played.

In reading the user manual, it says "… you can transpose the MIDI notes to change the melodic line. Esnure to not transpose the keyswitch note, however. The original rhythmic structure is still being provided by the pattern and cannot be changed in the MIDI editor of the DAW."

So let's say i drag a pattern in my DAW (Cubase). There are midi notes representing the patterns, but not the actual notes themselves. I want to put this midi file into Guitar Pro so that i have a complete score of all the guitar notes that are being played. When i tried this, i have a very long stretch of a C1 note (which makes sense because that is the pattern). But I want the guitar notes within the pattern/phrase.

Is this possible? Or am I completely missing the point of how this program is supposed to work?

Thanks for any help.
