Install sound sets without a disc drive.

I want to put my Kontakt Library into my new computer which does not have a disc drive; can I load the library discs onto a usb stick then put the contents into my computer? How would I get it from the stick into kontakt?

    Assuming you are talking - a "disc" drive - as in a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive?

    Very common not to have that today.

    But I am not sure what "library" discs you have - but if they are actually "discs" - this would indicate something very old.

    Here in 2025 - discs are not required. Simply install Native Access (v3.18.1) - login with your NI credentials and install your products via download to your new computers hard drive.

    Also would suggest - depending on the new computer and it's current available space - you may need to consider an extra internal (or external) drive to accommodate your NI libraries.

    Discs from yesteryear are essentially just coffee coasters now.

    If you have already downloaded and installed the content using Native Access then you should be able to copy the Kontakt libraries onto USB stick or external hard drive (most likely faster - depending on disk type and device interface speed). But if we are talking about very old content installed using "Service Center" or earliest N.A. then I am not sure if it will actually work or how well.

    But Native Access does support reusing already downloaded Kontakt libraries when installing :

    Lots of uses for an optical drive. Why not buy one to plug into your USB port. Not expensive.
