Best Step Sequencer VST for Maschine

Hi everyone,


I'm looking for a step sequencer VST that works well with Maschine. I've tried a few in the past, but they either didn’t sync properly or didn’t respond as expected.

Have you used any step sequencer VSTs (something like DarkSeq) that work smoothly inside Maschine?


Open to any recommendations—thanks in advance!

    Hello,

    inside of maschine any plugin that gives out midi will not work, cause midi is not transferred from one plugin to the next, within maschine. There is a sequencer for reaktor that works with maschine in midi mode and you maybe could use this to control another reaktor module. If that's making sense is another story but you didn't asked for an option on that, or maybe I understand you somehow wrong.

    There is a MIDI thru in Maschine, but only for MIDI that comes in from a controller or the piano roll, not from a instrument slot itself.

    I came across the same problem, when I wanted to create a generative audio installation, with random MIDI generated by VCV, then passed to Pigments and Massive.

    For such cases, I use Blue Cat's Patchwork as a plugin. Then I put the MIDI generator and the synth inside Patchwork. Patchwork can easyly transfer MIDI from one plugin to the other. That works fine, at least for me (ambient, latency is no issue). But should also work for music with tighter latency requirements than mine ;)

    This unearths a long-requested Maschine feature: VST instrument MIDI routing. If Ni hears 👂
