Controller or Software issue? S4 MK3

My Traktor S4 MK3 DJ controller is having a problem with the the tracks randomly stop playing. No sound, jog wheels lights go off and no spinning and can't load a new track. It started with B but now A too. I have to quit Traktor and when I restart the controller is working again...until it happens again. Started a few weeks ago and continues to occur.I don't know if it's the Controller or Software.

I can't use till fixed obviously. The first time I had to finagle using A/C…now I to find solution. NI help desk is all automated and not supplying solutions. Thanks

been driven crazy with this issue too.. but seems to have stopped now but not sure exactly what fixed it so i’ll let you know everything i did… this is on pc so may not all relate…

    1. Re-enabled my cross fader buttons on front of deck via the switches (i turn them off in software now only)

    2. Changed my asio settings to 44.1 / 256 / 3ms and i check this on every launch in settings to verify

    3. Run as administrator

    4. Renamed the traktor stripes folder to stripes.bak (all the wavform images) so traktor recreated it… this may change grids so warning… (i did this in case a wavform file was corrupted…)

    so far OK…

If this is the "waveform goes blurry, track stops playing, you can right-click to save your collection but you cannot quit Traktor - a force quit is required" then this is a known problem that appears to affect both macOS and Windows users but only with S4Mk3 hardware. I've played 6+ hour gigs with a Z2 mixer without a single issue but have seen TP4 crash with my S4Mk3 several times. Someone has just posted an alleged fix from NI Support but I'm currently skeptical about that if I'm honest.

So yes, we're all worried about this game of Russian Roulette when playing gigs with the S4Mk3. I have an iPad permanently connected to a separate audio mixer now, just in case.

The waveform doesn't go blurry but track just stops completely. jog wheel lights go out, can't load new track etc. Have to quit and reopen and worry till next time.
So this sounds like hardware issue then if your Z2 works. I was hoping some software glitch that a reinstall would fix. It's only started happening last few weeks which is strange. And it sucks.

thanks. Will give it a try. It’s weird because it’s so random when it happens and can take a while…. Like everything fine and then just suddenly stops.
I seriously started to wonder if I should just switch to a whole different system… Because now I feel like I really can’t trust if it’s gonna happen at a bad time
