Running GR in parallel with other apps?

Is it possible to run GR simultaneously while running something like Ultimate Guitar Tabs or Guitar Pro? The sound driver (Win 11) seems to be one or the other.

    That's a common problem with Windows. Check that the bitrate is the same in your Windows sound settings as it is in the GR settings. What audio device/driver are you using because that can affect how it needs setting up?

    That's a common problem with Windows.

    Try using a driver for everything that will allow for more apps to run and use audio at the same time

    Try using Steinberg built-in ASIO Driver: information & download for all music programs and DAW

    then also do the following :

    Open a Windows Administrator Terminal/Command prompt

    in command prompt type mmsys.cpl

    hit enter

    Select tab Playback , Select your active audio device (e.g., your speakers or headphones), right click and click Properties.

    Select tab Advanced . Uncheck both options under Exclusive Mode (Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device Give exclusive mode applications priority)

    Click Apply and OK.

    Also remember to check that the Steinberg built-in ASIO Driver Setup (x64) is setup to use your audio device (Found in Windows Start menu after Steinberg driver installation).

    Please notice though that the Steinbergbuilt-in ASIO Driver from what other people say is one of them 'not a real ASIO driver' and that it may give more latency than some other 'ASIO' drivers.

    Audio setup is going to be very dependent on the audio device and what drivers you have installed. Before you start changing a whole bunch of settings or installing other software tell us what you're working with and we'll be able to help you better.

    Currently running on a Surface Pro 8 (11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1185G7 @ 3 .00GHz 3.00 GHz, 16 GIG RAM), M-Track Solo interface ,W indows 11, version 24H2

    Did you follow the setup instructions in the documentation for Windows audio after you've installed the ASIO drivers? That goes through how to set up the Windows sound setting so they work alongside the ASIO drivers. In case you've not seen those, this is what they say. Double check those settings and if it's still not working let us know.

    Windows:

    Use the included USB cable to connect the M-Track Solo to your computer.

    In the Taskbar, locate the Volume Control "speaker" icon. Right-click the speaker

    and open Sound Settings > Sounds.

    Alternatively, go to Start Menu > System > Sound > Sound Control Panel.

    In the Windows Sound control panel select the Playback tab and select USB

    Audio Codec as the default device.

    Click the Recording tab and select USB Audio Codec as the default device.

    Click Properties in the lower right-hand corner.

    In the new window, click the Advanced tab and select 2-channel, 16-bit, 48000 Hz

    (Studio Quality) as the default format.

    Uncheck both boxes under Exclusive Mode.

    Click OK to close the Properties window.

    Click OK to close the Sound control panel.
