Thanks for your help. I uninstalled and reinstalled Native Access, KK and Kontakt and it made no difference at all. Each of them shows different numbers of instruments.

I've escalated this to NI support and I'll keep you posted.

In the meantime, I told KK to rescan Plug-ins without deleting anything. It did this and has 29,017 presets across 90 instruments.

How does Kontakt have more instruments but fewer presets?

    Kontakt only hosts Kontakt instruments.

KK also hosts VST plug-ins. Is it possible you have VST plug-ins installed, that come with presets, that KK is seeing?

@Matthew_NI Thanks for your response. It's helpful to know that Kontakt only hosts Kontakt instruments. I'm new to the whole NIniverse and I'm finding it a bit bewildering TBH.

I discovered the issue I'm trying to solve when I tried to load the West Africa instrument in a Cubase project from Komplete Kontrol. It wasn't there. When I checked KK standalone it wasn't there either. It is in Kontakt 8 however and it's also in Native Access, but that's no good to me cos if it doesn't show in KK, I can't use the instrument I've paid for.

It was there before I upgraded to Kontakt 8, but it, along with a number of other instruments sitting in my VST folders, isn't in KK and I'm wondering why it stopped indexing them and how to restore them.

@PoorFellow I took the plunge and deleted the folder named Browser Data and the komplete.db3 file, restarted KK and it finally rebuilt the database with all the instruments etc that I can see in Native Access and a total of 41,253 presets. I can now access the instruments I was looking for in Cubase.
Thanks so much for your help.
