    Hi NI team,

After a full system cleanup and multiple reinstalls, I'm still facing the "Plug-in not found. Please open the standalone application to re-scan…" error when trying to load Kontakt in Komplete Kontrol.

Here’s a detailed summary of my setup and the steps I've taken:

    • Mac: Apple Silicon (M4) – macOS Sequoia 15.4.1
    • Komplete Kontrol: v4.3.0 (latest)
    • cssCopierModifier/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Kontakt 7.vst3/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Kontakt 8.vst3
      • Kontakt 7.10.7
      • Kontakt 8.3
        Both appear correctly under:
    • Both Kontakt 7 and 8 standalone apps work perfectly (Rosetta enabled).
    • Komplete Kontrol is also launched via Rosetta.
    • All plugin folders are correctly set in Komplete Kontrol preferences.
    • I've manually deleted the following before reinstall:
      • ~/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Komplete Kontrol
      • ~/Library/Caches/Native Instruments/Komplete Kontrol
      • ~/Library/Preferences/com.native-instruments.Komplete Kontrol.plist
      • PluginCache and Browser Data folders

✅ After that, I launched a full scan with:

bashCopierModifieropen -a "Komplete Kontrol" --args -fullscan

The breakthrough: I had to manually restore execution rights to ni-plugin-info, using:

    bashCopierModifiersudo chmod +x "/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Komplete Kontrol/ni-plugin-info.app/Contents/MacOS/ni-plugin-info"

Only then did Komplete Kontrol properly scan the plugins — I confirmed ni-plugin-info was being used via fs_usage, and Kontakt 7 and 8 finally appeared in the list.

⚠️ But the same error still shows when trying to load Kontakt in Komplete Kontrol:

"Plug-in not found. Loading issue plugins/preset could not be loaded, as it does not yet support Apple Silicon or VST2/VST3."

I strongly suspect this is related to macOS 15 Sequoia (15.4.1), since everything worked perfectly under macOS 14.

Could this be a sandbox/permissions issue? Or a compatibility issue with Sequoia?

Happy to share logs or assist further — thanks a lot for any help!

To make things clearer, here's what happens in standalone and in ableton : https://we.tl/t-QFjszq7aFN

Watched the video. But I do not understand what these presets you are clicking on - are part of.

You click ion "2Pranged" and get an error

Then "4AD" - and get an error

Then "3 Silver Lines" and so on and so on.

What instruments do these presets belong to?

I just searched my vast library - and I see none of them - so they are most definitely not common.

Need more info on exactly what you are expecting Kontakt to open when clicking on these selections.

It's simply my bank presets that are listed like that, as is usually the case, nothing more, nothing less. I'm going to do a complete reinstallation of my factory OS. I have no choice.

Yes - but WHAT instruments GO with these presets? If you click on a preset and the instrument it needs - is not there - you get that error.

I have hundreds of Kontakt instruments here and see none of those present names anywhere. And - except for the Slate+Ash in your video - I have ALL the other instruments you have. I do not see any presets named 4AAD or 3 Silver Lines etc…

To be honest - given the other half of that video - your Slate+Ash loads fine etc - I think this is a different issue and it has nothing to do with Kontakt.

And everything to do with a bunch of other instruments whose presets are somehow listed but the instruments themselves - are not there.

I don’t think any of those are Kontakt presets, isn’t 3Silver lines an Absynth one (would explain that error)

Try to make sure you are loading Kontakt libraries, is that message coming up for those? Kontakt 8 is compatible with Sequoia, this is not a compatiblity issue, it looks more like there is some confusion about which presets are for which product

"3 Silver Lines", "4AD" etc are all Massive presets.

So the error here indicates that Massive is not installed correctly. And that video also absolves Kontakt.

This "error" really has nothing to do with Kontakt. And everything to do with a bunch of other instruments that are not installed correctly.

I'm not sure that anyone has suggested or tried this yet:

Open KK standalone app, go to File/Settings/Plug-ins and do a rescan

See if your products now work. If not, reinstall the ones that do not work (e.g. Massive) to ensure you're on the latest versions, and then do the rescan again.

We can see that Massive is missing in a prior screencap:

Whether a rescan will help is unknown.

But whatever is going on here - Massive - for one thing - is not installed correctly. And is the reason for these errors…

    Hello,

Are you saying that the simple fact that Massive is incorrectly installed (albeit via Native Access) can corrupt all the banks? Frankly, I've turned the problem upside down and it hasn't changed so far. A system reboot seems to me to be the most advantageous way of starting again with something more than clean.

Any preset I load shows me the same message, whatever instrument I'm using!

Another thing, I deleted everything that could be linked to kontakt 8 and 7 and KK, then reinstalled KK and K7 only. Despite this, KK tells me that K8 is still there?

Any preset that trips that error - means the product that belongs to that preset - is not installed correctly. OR - Komplete Kontrol has not scanned it. Massive for one…so far.

Until all your installed instruments appear in the Plug-ins area of the Komplete Kontrol Options window - this error will continue.

Example - I am on Windows - but every single one of my NI (NKS compatible) instruments appears in my Plugins area. And of course - no errors on any preset.

Another more nuclear option is to bounce the Komplete Kontrol *.db3 file and allow KK to rebuild a new database from scratch.

None of these errors - that I can see - have anything to do with Kontakt. Your troubles lie elsewhere with other instruments not being installed correctly - but their presets are appearing correctly in KK.

You need to separate your thoughts on Presets in Komplete Kontrol vs Kontakt. All those presets are for different instruments - many of them have zero to do with Kontakt.

Example - clicking on "4AD" is trying to open Massive - not Kontakt. And hence the error.
