I have exactly the same problem and also with machine 3.1.1 on macOS Sequoia 15. 4.1. With a MacBook pro M4 only Arturia and Uhe plug-ins are loading

With Kontakt 8 instruments?

Upon investigation, I found that the binary
KompleteKontrolPluginScanner
is completely missing from the path:swiftCopierModifier/Applications/Native Instruments/Komplete Kontrol/Komplete Kontrol.app/Contents/MacOS/
I ran multiple checks (
find
,ls
,arch -x86_64
, etc.) — this binary does not exist, is not hidden, and is not present even after a clean reinstall. What I’ve already tried:
✅ Complete cleanup and reinstall:
- Deleted all related folders in:
/Applications/Native Instruments/Komplete Kontrol
/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Komplete Kontrol
~/Library/Application Support/...
~/Library/Caches/...
✅ Reinstalled using Native Access 3.5.2
✅ Kontakt 7.vst3 and Kontakt 8.vst3 are present and correctly installed
✅ Plugin paths are correctly added in Komplete Kontrol preferences:/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
✅ Ran:
open -a "Komplete Kontrol" --args -fullscan
arch -x86_64 ...
tccutil reset All com.native-instruments.Komplete Kontrol
✅ Also tested on a second Mac (Intel i7, macOS Monterey 12.7.2):
TheKompleteKontrolPluginScanner
is missing there too after reinstalling everything through Native Access. Conclusion:
It seems the
KompleteKontrolPluginScanner
binary is not being shipped anymore in the current release, preventing any VST3 plugin detection or database rebuild, even with a clean system. Please confirm:
- Is this a known regression with Native Access or Komplete Kontrol?
- Is there a way to manually recover this binary or force a proper rescan?
Yes, to clarify: - ✅ I’m using Native Access 3.5.2, which is currently the latest version available for macOS Sequoia 15.4.1.
- ✅ I’ve completely reinstalled Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt 7 multiple times.
- After each uninstall, I manually deleted all related files, including:
/Applications/Native Instruments/Kontakt 7
/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Kontakt 7
~/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/...
~/Library/Preferences/...
- All
.json
,.plist
, and.xml
files I could find related to Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol - I also removed the plugin cache, browser data, and ran a full rescan using:
- bashCopierModifieropen -a "Komplete Kontrol" --args -fullscan
- ✅ I rebooted the system before each reinstall.
- Despite this, Kontakt 7 and Kontakt 8 VST3 are still not detected, and the binary
KompleteKontrolPluginScanner
seems completely missing from the Komplete Kontrol installation folder, which may be the root cause. - Thanks for your help — I’m happy to provide logs or run further tests if needed.

Komplete Kontrol (and Maschine 3) do not use the old scanapp anymore (although it was not called 'kompletekontrolpluginscanner' - where did you get that idea from?) - since the last few versions they have a new multithreaded scanner called the ni-plugin-info.app found in path below - it may be you need to run the plugin scan then to update your plugins?
'/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Komplete Kontrol/ni-plugin-info.app'

Apparently a serious misunderstanding here ?
First N.A. version compatible with Sequoia : Native Access 3.14.0 , reference : Compatibility of Native Instruments Products on macOS
So if you are indeed using Native Access 3.5.2 then that might explain a thing or two ! (N.A. pass on information to both Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt so it is paramount that you use correct N.A. version)
Please download and use latest version of Native Access for your OS ?

Autant pour moi, j'ai testé avec la 3.5.2 pour voir si cela réglé le problème mais j'ai effectivement bien réinstallé la nouvelle version proposait sur leur site

As far as I'm concerned, I tested with 3.5.2 to see if it solved the problem, but I did reinstall the new version.

I don't have the ni-plugin-info.app you mentioned?

That makes it a bit hard to follow what you have done and not done. Anything done using a too old N.A. version might have spoiled your efforts.
I am sorry but I do not have any way of getting a good overview of all of this. Anyway then I am just about out of time here for the night. I hope that you get the issue solved soon.

Before testing the old Native Access 3.5.2, I took care to delete everything, including the libraries and the system cache, rebooted and installed the latest clean versions, nothing more complicated. And despite this, Kontakt is not scanned. Nothing too complicated really. I suppose there must be a Sequoia security block somewhere, but my skills stop here, and my music remains on standby :3
Thanks in any case for your responsiveness and help, and have a great evening!0 -
That's the user library folder - the path I gave was to the system library folder

/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Komplete Kontrol/ni-plugin-info.app
here it is !

Yes that's the path I gave
Don't know where this 'KompleteKontrolPluginScanner' app idea came from - maybe chatgpt is making stuff up?

Yes, in my opinion there has been some interpretation by chatgpt on this subject, but it has helped me quite a bit on certain points, in particular that kontakt was not recognised in komplete kontrol. What can I do with ni-plugin-info? I can't run it manually.

It should just run when you do a plugin scan in Komplete Kontrol
