Hi Friedemann_NI and thanks for the update !
As part of the die-hard turntablist community which still big for Traktor, I am waiting just so much for :
- HID integration for Phase and Phase Pro
- New battle mixer like a Z2 MK2 or Z4, with full and direct access of stems, paddle for effects, more pads, better sound card and so on
- Real-time stems separation and intelligent automatic flexible beatgrid
Please show us some love, die-hard turntablist community as you call it. I can't imagine you upgraded Z1 and other little modular controllers, and will not upgrade Z2 with ability to use all the last features you implemented.
Lots and lots of users are waiting for it, and NI would sell trucks of a new Z2 MK2.
Maybe third-party battle mixer support could be an option too, like djm-s11 with waveforms view integration for Traktor.
Can we get (even little) news / schedule about that 🙏
Love on Traktor and Native ecosystem 🫶

Setting a flexible beat grid is usually done by moving through the track from left to right.
The first marker is automatically set during analysis and is usually on spot.
The second grid marker, must be set on the last beat of the first steady tempo zone to define the start of a new tempo zone.
In most cases the automatically set beat grid at the beginning of track aligns well with the beats in the first stead tempo zone.
In these cases SNAP makes sure that the second grid marker lands exactly on the underlying grid and thereby does not change the tempo of the first tempo zone.
Users have been reporting that setting a second grid marker changes the BPM of the tempo zone left to it. This is the case if the second marker is not exactly set on the grid (which is the case when you turn SNAP off).
The bug was, that even though enabling SNAP, it did not have any effect on setting the Grid marker.
Hope this makes sense now.7 -

Thank you for your great questions:Since we've said goodbye to the roadmap for a while now, I've still taken a look at what's left of it and whether any of it might be on the horizon. As of now, a retina-compatible browser is still pending. I seem to remember it being mentioned there that it also would include an improved workflow. Are you still making efforts to implement these points?
The answer is "yes" and what was intended by "laying the foundation for engaging in a stepwise migration towards a high-dpi user interface".
Meanwhile, I would prefer a better workflow in the browser over Retina compatibility.
Fully agreed, this is exactly what we want to achieve. The high-dpi user interface is a by-product of the migration to a modern graphics framework, which has the main benefit of enabling better workflows in the browser.

In addition to the browser, I think it's really about time to fulfill the request for an improved controller manager. In my opinion, the mapping options are still a major advantage for Traktor over the competition, but here, too, as with the browser, the whole thing simply seems outdated in terms of implementation and use. Will there be any further changes/improvements here? Which is probably the best transition to my last point.
The controller manager is a very historical part of Traktor indeed. We have been exploring options about how to make qml-base mappings more accessible. Nothing to share yet but definitely on our minds, so stay tuned…

Thanks everyone for the feedback and suggestions. @Friedemann_NI picked a few questions to answer - those are the ones we’re able to share for now. The thread's been open for a week and is now closed. Appreciate all the input. See you next time!
