Traktor Pro 4.2.0 Available Now

We are happy to announce the availability for download of the Traktor Pro 4.2.0 update.
For owners of the Z1MK2, we have added Traktor’s well-known overmapping capabilities that enable users to customize mappings beyond the available options in the Traktor preferences.
If you are interested in the Traktor overmapping we’d like to recommend this knowledgebase article (Traktor X1 MK3 Overmapping Instructions – Native Instruments). You can easily apply the examples in the article from the X1 MK3 to the Z1 MK2 and to your specific needs.
We have also added multi-controller support for Z1 MK2 so that you can connect two Z1s to control all 4 channels of your setup independently, like on a 4-channel mixer. This comes with a new option to disable the Z1 MK2 crossfader in the preferences. Shoutout to everyone who jumped in with feedback right after launch. This feature was made with you in mind.
For Beatport and Beatsource streaming subscribers, we have upgraded the search to the newest API. Searches are now noticeably faster and smarter with multiple-term support. You can set the number of search results you want in the Browser preferences which allows you to reduce the waiting time on low bandwidth connections.
By popular demand from die-hard turntablists within the community, we have restored the feature of controlling multiple decks with a single turntable by reanabling one input source for multiple decks.
Full Changelog

FIXED Third party controller mappings not working
All mappings of supported third party controllers are now working again.
What’s next for Traktor?
The team is working on various lanes, from upcoming feature releases to updated third party hardware integrations
At the same time, we have successfully laid the foundation for engaging in a stepwise migration towards a high-dpi user interface which will start to show up in the upcoming releases.
There's also something new and exciting in the pipeline that we can’t share just yet… but it’s definitely worth watching for.
We can’t wait to see all this take shape ourselves and appreciate your loyalty, patience and support. As always, this thread will be open for a week if you have any questions about Traktor Pro 4.2.0. Just drop them here - I’ll be around until next Wednesday, May 7th.

7 months wait period for the "update" just to read "there's something new that we cannot share yet…"
Nothing, literally nothing regarding live stems, faster stem creation, Phase HID nor anything major mentioned in the community is brought, mentioned nor implemented. This changelog should have been 50+ rows long by now.
I honestly do not know what to think right now.

When will you fix these two bugs (TP-16737 and TP-16766)
Reported April 2022! confirmed by Kaiwan_NI

Just curious on your thoughts on Apple Music, there was also some suggestions when the Z1MK2 was launched about enhancements, are updates coming to the hardware soon, mostly about the brightness of the buttons and color changing (at least from me).

updating from 4.1.1 to 4.2.0 with windows 11 worked great🙂

Always the same…. never good enough. You don't even know what happend under the hood so stop whining please.
Or move along if you don't like the development speed of Traktor.

+1 for this! Really got tired of those whinners…

I had hoped that the update would include support for Apple Music. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case. Will this feature be available in the near future?

However, you don't know what happened under the hood either. You can just accept what you're told. It's okay, I'm actually on the same side as you, but it's simply counterproductive to tell others they're whiny. At least in this matter. I can certainly relate more to his context than yours. He's denouncing what has always been the problem: the communication and the discrepancy between the various expectations and the final delivery.
Basically, he's simply right. Seven months of radio silence. And now a version that, on the surface, doesn't seem to bring much new.
I also had a brief moment where it pissed me off that this version wouldn't deliver what I had hoped for. Now I'm just looking forward to the next one, which might have something I'd like to have.
In the end, we now have three posts including this one from @Sunborn in the release notes that contribute nothing to the topic, including four of my own…
By the way: I can confirm that the input routing issue has now definitely been resolved, and I can now control multiple decks simultaneously again on the RANE Twelves, for example. Great, thanks for that!

Hopefully the connection/driver problems with the Z1Mk2 have been fixed on windows. It was difficult enough to connect a single Z1Mk2 for some people.

+1 for your comment too… indeed all those comments are not contributing to the thread, but remember, it is always a whining person who "starts the race"… 😊
so, from my part, here is something useful:
@Friedemann_NI as i am a Z1 MK2 user, what about this annoying "sub-device without a driver"?
Is it fixed?1 -
That only appears if you install the ASIO driver. Hopefully the WASAPI and ASIO drivers both work now.

Hello, Glad to see there are updates, however I don't use the z1 and x1 at all, I'm on S8.
I'm doing open format I'm struggling to set up beatgrid and tag the library,
I'm looking at what the competition is doing and for many things are ahead.
I love Traktor but as time goes by, I'll still wait hoping that traktor actually opens up perspectives
on third-party controllers other than native and perhaps with a fluid beatgrid
like djay pro To be continued soon or within 4 months, or not…0 -
I know, but I work only with ASIO drivers, everywhere, since 20+ years. Never used (and never will) Microsoft's generic solutions.
That said, the device is working perfectly. However, i am a perfectionist (both practically and aesthetically) and seen this thing every time i open the Device Manager it really make my nerves tingle!

Unfortunately the Rane Twelves also have sticker drift.
