Will my Traktor Scratch Pro 2 timecode vinyl work with Traktor 4

Hi

I've been away from my decks for a few years (kids!!), but have some time again these days.

I have "Traktor Scratch Pro 2 MK2 Software and Media Kit" but when I tried to install it it's not available in Native Access. I believe it's because it seems it's not supported on newer Macs.

Is upgrading to Traktor 4 my only option?

If so, I have an upgrade option to Traktor 4, but I just wanted to confirm that my timecode vinyl from Traktor Scratch Pro 2 will actually work with Traktor 4 before upgrading.

Thanks for your help

Feel you. Was hit by this issues years ago. Updated my MacBook to macOS 10.12 and nothing worked anymore. The DN-X1600 was still on sale at that time and marketed as class compliant - though it needed no special drivers on macOS.

Unfortunately Denon never released a Mac driver or firmware upgrade to adress this issue.

As I also had an Audio 8 DJ I used that first weeks until I realised there wouldn‘t come a solution. I downgraded my MacBook to macOS 10.11 again and switched my mixer for Xone:96 later.

    Options are as follows:

1.) Get a new mixer with integrated audio interface. Most likely the most expensive solution.

2.) Get a used Traktor Audio 6 or 10 on eBay or reverb.com. NI sells refurbished ones on reverb.com . I got a used Audio 10 some weeks ago around 150€ on kleinanzeigen (a german platform). If you need all 4 channels with DVS the Audio 10 ist the only way I know except for complete mixers on modern macOS. If you only connect two decks a used Denon DS1 would work too.

3.) Get a new DVS audio interface: Either Pioneer DJ Interface 2 (up to two turntables) or Reloop Flux (up to 3).

4.) Traktor Kontrol S4 Mk3 (not sure about Mk2). But thats a full grown Traktor controller.

I'm pretty certain that the timecodes will still work with Traktor PRO 4.

Just to be certain I'd suggest downloading and installing the trial version from here - https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/traktor/dj-software/traktor-pro-4/free-trial

That will let you try the software for 30 minutes at a time and check it works with your timecodes and the rest of your system.

Yes, it will work with Traktor Pro 4. Even my Mk1 vinyls I got with Traktor Scratch 1 still work as long as they aren‘t worn out.

    Thanks for the reply maniacintosh81

I was hoping to come back with an update, but now I realise my mixer (Denon DNX-1600) is no longer supported on latest MacOS 😢

Try to research what my options are now to get some kind of DVS set up going.

    Thanks everyone for the replies

A new mixer is definitely the nuclear option 😄 Would be nice but very expensive! I'm just a hobbyist really, just want to get back into listening and playing a few tunes, so kinda hard to justify that route.

I had come across the Reloop Flux in my research and it looks cool, but the idea of a used Traktor Audio 6 is interesting too. I guess a concern would be because it's discontinued it might suffer the same way as the DNX-1600, whereas the Flux would be supported (for a while longer at least).

Thanks for the suggestions! And the empathy 😂

Option 5 would be to use another computer with either windows or an older version of mac os.
