New Machine MK4 controller along with Maschine 3.0 software later this year?

Personally I thinks it’s cool just the way Maschine works as it is, love to see the more “ custom chord progressions “ where we can save our own…. If it has a new touch screen etc, will it still be compatible with the existing S88 mm 2 keyboards? As I love they was these both integrate together…using Maschine DAW and Studio One or Logic Pro X. I’d love the Maschine DAW to be updated also…fine tuned slightly more.
I don’t do EDM or Trance Dance or Trap etc etc….simply Alt Rock/ Rock/ Acoustic Rock / and Lite Acoustic Rock/ Pop…Session Instruments and Folk/ Rock/ Acoustic/ Bass/ is awesome.
Hope there could be updates supporting these genres in any future update, which doesn’t include EDM etc etc etc , personally it’s a big shout BUT more and more folks are leaning and learning these days that NI products can actually achieve these genres very simply….Especially Jazz Pop/ Lite Rock/ Alt Rock and Indie Rock and pop.
Jono😍🎸

it’s the same team. That’s the problem

A small team of 3, including 2 ex-NI employees, are already working on the spiritual successor to Maschine…and it's the most exciting abomination of a groovebox I've ever seen. It's got a 64-step, 36 track sequencer with independent tempo tracks for each track. It took a large corporation how long to implement rudimentary tempo changes as "tempo per scene"? How long did it take y'all since Version 1 to add that feature in? A decade? And THREE DUDES HAVE MANAGED TO PROGRAM A SEQUENCER CAPABLE OF ASSIGNING A UNIQUE TEMPO TO EACH TRACK. TWO OF THEM USED TO WORK FOR YOU.

Rooting for them, honestly—more choice is good for everyone. But let’s keep the hype in check: sure, they cracked tempo-per-track and tossed in a touch-screen, yet they also boxed themselves into 36 tracks and 64 steps, and I don’t see anything that rivals Maschine’s pads, interface, sounds, or scene / song workflow.
Starting from a clean slate lets you cherry-pick other people’s wins while dodging their scars. The real test comes when the honeymoon’s over and users start asking, “OK, but why can’t it…?”—a question NI’s been fielding for years.

Interesting… I will follow how it develops
But I must say that the sneak peek of the device looks awful ☺️
Oh… I notice now that you must agree, since you call it “the most exciting abomination of a groovebox I’ve ever seen” 😂
@rephazed I agree on many points. But… I don’t think they want to rival with Maschine pads (in facts, I don’t even see pads there). What I suspect is they focus more on the 64 steps sequencer (maybe using the frame of external buttons for it? 17 per side with 4 overlapping = 64… 😏).
Speculations game starts 😂

Yeah, it really is kinda weird & awkward looking, but I do kinda understand the design choices based on the couple of pictures/videos they have. I just think it's amazing that they somehow managed to allow for 36 independent tempo tracks. That, plus whatever sequencing options they have, could lead to some really interesting new genres of music. You can do multiple clocks and different BPMs with modular, but I haven't really seen anything like that in a groovebox.

Yeah… I’ve seen now they have more pictures and some video on Instagram.
At least what I was able to watch since I don’t have an Instagram account (only the pictures without opening them… and not the videos, since they can’t be seen without being logged in).
I hate todays world… they have their own site but only a dark picture there… and the things to see are on Instagram…

Personally, I can see some sort of mapping for the Akai APC64 helping it to act as a pseudo-Maschine Jam Mk2. Apart from a couple of little bits here and there, that's what more or less comes to mind.

Hopefully they'll get some coverage at Superbooth (May 8-10) so you can watch elsewhere.

Yeah… one of the few things I was able to watch on the Instagram page was “We’re at Superbooth 2025”…😂

WHO knows what this will be capable of..

Just over a week to go - but what will it cost? These niche things by small startups tend to be expensive.

Another VERY interesting device….
Doing different things (it’s a controller, not a Groovebox) but still in some way related to Maschine: it expands the concept behind Lock States (the most underrated feature of Maschine)
P.s. : @Cretin Dilettante: I HATE you… you made me go back to my G.A.S. 😂
And also tetsuneko that made me discover this one…😏

To answer OP, I would not mind a MK4 and M+ 2 from NI but I think they should sort out any remaining grievances and technical debt for the current series before moving on.
