Traktor Kontrol S2 MK1 not being seen on Traktor Pro 2

I have a Traktor Kontrol S2 (first generation) that I bought brand new when it was originally released, and it served me really well for years.

Recently, I plugged it back in and was jamming without any issues. I noticed there was an update available for Traktor Pro 2, so I installed it. I am on windows 10.tr

After the update, Traktor Pro 2 no longer recognizes my Traktor Kontrol S2.

I’ve tried:

  • Downloading and reinstalling the latest drivers manually
  • Updating the firmware
  • Restarting and reconnecting everything directly via USB (no hubs)

Unfortunately, nothing seems to be working so far.

Is there any way to fix this? I'd appreciate any advice or steps I might have missed.

    Quick update for anyone struggling with an old Traktor Kontrol S2 MK1 not being recognized after updating Traktor Pro 2:


    I uninstalled the newer version of Controller Editor and installed an older version that fully supports the S2 MK1.


    As soon as I did that, my S2 was detected again immediately in both Controller Editor and Traktor Pro 2.
    Everything is working now.
