@LostForWords Have you checked this article? How to set up your Kontrol S-Series MK3
Everything is explained pretty clearly and you should have a link to it in the box. The Hardware Connection Service needs to be installed from Native Access.
If you have any issues, you should check this one: Kontrol S-Series MK3 Troubleshooting Guide
Once you've done all that you should install all your products in Native Access. People are only trying to help you here, no need to get rude. At least give these suggestions a little try before calling out scam, no support. I see that you submitted a couple of requests in our system, my colleagues will get back to you as soon as possible.

Great, we have solved the first problem!
Now you ask a second question. You are looking for the instruments, but do not see them.
Navigate to the Native Instruments tab, and open Kontakt or Komplete Kontrol. You will see these instruments inside of these.

What Matthew_NI wrote , you need to run the Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol as standalone apps prior to use them in a DAW , and also setup both Midi and Audio in the standalone apps.

Kontakt 8 does not show up in my DAW. After installing the Hardware Connection Service, I can open Kontakt 8 from Native Access, and I can play the instruments with the keyboard, but although I can hear the NI instruments through my headphones, I also hear the instrument assigned to the track in Logic Pro. And I can only record the Logic instrument that's loaded. When I record playing the NI instrument, the only thing that's recorded is the Logic instrument that's loaded on the track. What am I doing wrong here? Any ideas?

Unfortunately, Kontakt does not show up under Native Instruments in my DAW. I still can't record 'just' the NI instruments. How do I bypass the Logic instrument and just record the NI instrument?

If you have installed Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol, ensure you have scanned your plug-ins after install with Logic Pro.
To scan or rescan plugins in Logic Pro X, navigate to Preferences > Plug-in Manager, select the plugin you want to rescan, and click "Reset & Rescan Selection". If a plugin is not appearing in the Plug-in Manager, try restarting Logic Pro and your computer, and if that doesn't work, you may need to delete the AU cache file.
Also, if you're opening the plug-ins in a DAW, the standalone applications should not be opened at the same time. Kontakt 8 should be the plug-in loaded on the instrument track(s).

Kontakt 8 does not show up in my DAW.
Logic Pro uses AU plug-ins. Maybe check if the AU is installed ? You should find the AU file here : Mac HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins >Components
As for use in Logic Pro then please check these support pages :
Plug-in Administration in Logic Pro , Quote : If Logic Pro does not recognize your NI plug-in, read the article My Native Instruments Plug-In Does Not Appear in Logic

I am not sure if I understand you correctly , are you trying to combine the use of Kontakt 8 standalone with the use of a DAW ? If so then I don't think that the DAW is supposed to record the Kontakt 8 standalone. As for recording while playing then that is question of using the DAW and I do not know Logic Pro at all. However the overall principle of it all is that you insert an occurrence of the Kontakt 8 plugin on the track in Logic and select an instrument and then arm the track and then start recording.
Else then could you please give a specific example with screenshot and explain using that ?

The Plugin Manager indicates that Kontakt 8 has been scanned and loaded successfully. I'll now follow your instructions to turn everything off and turn it on again. I know people like me can be frustrating when we're frustrated, so thanks for helping to this point.

OK, I think I'm getting somewhere now. I can load a NI instrument, hear it, and record it. Thank you so much for all your time. I'll focus on learning this stuff. I'm one of those smart/stupid guys, so I'll either get it pretty quickly, or, well, I won't. LOL. Thank you
