My point still stands: if a single, hobbyist, not earning almost anything, developing on his spare time guy can work better and have more respect towards the people that gave him a small amount of money than a group (not so sure it is “a ton of employees”…at least not on developments…maybe on marketing…) of professionals, paid for the job they do, selling things at a premium price (calculated also on the basis of the costs that selling a device will have in the long term, included fixing things, improving their products and giving support)… something must be wrong…

OMG!! Who or what are you trying to convince and defend here…?
Of course a one man shop operates differently from a (big) company. But it’s about the outcome.
If a (big) company simply cannot deliver as promised, or cannot offer decent communications and support, then they’re really missing the purpose of being an (big) organization in the first place.
Reorganize and make better, less bureaucratic and short-term ‘money driven’ business decisions. A company should outperform the some of its parts, otherwise it‘s a waste of money… and energy.
We’re waiting over more than a year for a bug fix release for M+, and we’ve been promised multiple times ‘this quarter(s) things will get better’. Up until this point, nothing has changed.
Yes, the beta for the ‘final version 2’ seems to be just around the corner. At least, if they manage to fix the build pipeline… like if a (big) company cannot restore a couple of servers.
Maybe it was Murphy’s time to play.

I don’t think he is trying to convince anybody. He is just exposing his point of view. Which, like all points of view, is not completely right nor completely wrong.
I must admit that I struggle too to see something behind some statements (“No larger company ever has the chance of competing with a 1/2/3 man shop”… ?😶?😶?😶), but I can also see how some of the things he said could have a basis (1 passionate man can be more dedicated than many people being pressed from the top dogs…and those top dogs not giving a f about their duties, till the cash flows in and nobody force them to behave responsibly). The fact that I don’t agree with such basis doesn’t mean they are not true

Have you ever considered a career in politics...? 😂
4 -
No. I HATE politics 😂

It's easier to steer a canoe than a cruise ship.

It's your assumption that this is a question of a lack of respoect, which of course does not make it true.

@MaikR "OMG!! Who or what are you trying to convince and defend here…?"
Defending from false assumptions and accusations, and trying to convince those who don't understand that ship happens.

It’s always interesting that the point where someone comes in saying that others’ ideas are only “assumptions” and they “don’t understand” always comes…while expressing HIS ideas and showing how HE understands…
Aren’t we doing exactly the same thing, each with his own ideas? Or is it just me cause you are exempted?

On a slightly related note, given it's now Q2, does that also mean a new quarterly news update isn't too far away?

Something to cheer about…?

Assumptions like any of the delays demonstrate that NI don't respect their customers.
-1 -
I’m not that worried about delays… more than the delays come after an already TOO LONG time ignoring bugs, promises,…
I see that for many nowadays having to wait months (or even years) before something gets addressed is normal… but…you know…life is short…and waiting for NI doesn’t make us younger.
And I also find it strange how we accept that on some things while on others we are intransigent. What would we say if we seat down in a restaurant, we order, they make us pay upfront and then, after 3 hours we are there and they brought us only some bread, they tell us “we will serve you the main dish only tomorrow evening”? Leave alone if we accept it anyway and the next day they tell us “Yeah…but today the oven has some issues so you still have to wait”…
If then, after all this time, things don’t even go smoothly (yes…s*** can happen…but…not addressing things for long time because the company prefers to work on new stuff to gain more money and then hurries up things, release them incomplete/not properly tested,… surely is not a way to try to avoid it) … it’s not that difficult to feel not respected as a customer. At least for me.And yes: I do think that not taking charge of your duties is a form of disrespect. Too easy to be on the frontline when it’s time to sell things and put the money in the pockets to then take all the time you want when you must fulfill your duties. I never seen the possibility for users to say “I want the product NOW, but I will pay it when I want, because before I want to buy other things with that money”…
Again: it’s not the delays caused by some technical problem. It’s everything that comes before

Everything that comes before?
When we buy a product, it is sold as is. The only thing that should be assured is that the item is working as expected. But because we the consumers now feel entitled that the product we paid for has to evolve, bugs and incompatibility issues beget more compatibility issues. Had NI just refused all, freely offered, product evolution, they'd have been able to iron out all bugs from 2020, years ago.
'We' want it all…and we want it now, but Im not sure we're owed any of it.

I see that it’s so easy to ignore the part were we say what we are talking about is things that were advertised, like moving projects between Standalone and desktop (without worrying that a new update will remove this ability for months and months), bugs affecting what you can do,… exactly your “item is working as expected”.
Or maybe I forgot that I wrote that I’m asking for features that were not advertised. In that case (I thought that my memory was good…but who knows?), help me and list the “entitled” requests I made.Easier to say that we feel “entitled”…and to put words in our mouth that we never said but that help to prove your point.
And…since you like to conclude your posts with all those “slogans” and “sayings”… do you remember your ending in a post in the community update? ("Are we there yet, daddy?". "No! We'll be there when we get there!")
Don’t worry…the kid is not annoying with his question anymore…cause he died on the backseat in the meanwhile he was waiting…
