What I really like is the terms they use, to minimize things and/or almost put the blame on us…

    ”Speculation around the 1.6.0 release”

    ”how long this has felt”

It wasn’t “speculation”… and it didn’t “felt” long…it IS long

maybe they too think it feels like it’s taking a long time. It is a long time, but we’re not on the inside, we don’t know, or at least I don’t know how big/small their dev-team is, and how long they’ve had to work with lost of stuff and now that they’re fixing Maschine it feels it takes forever and here we are with our demands and comments feeling offended and all… I don’t know.

    To each his own.

Of course anyone can feel different about things.

What I do is look at other companies (even presumed “smaller” ones, which should have less strengths to deal with things) and how they work/how they face what they think are their duties towards their users.

Let’s just say the comparison doesn’t make NI shine…

Damn… I have few bucks apps released by one-man-bands that really make NI look like they don’t really care about their customers. One time I even wrote a single developer company telling him “Your app has this bug, but it’s a small one and it should affect very rare cases. Therefore feel free to just note it down for when you have time and nothing more important to do”. His answer? “No no no…I’ll fix it immediately. People paid me money for using my app (and it was a 5 bucks app). It would be unfair by my side to ignore it”.

    See the difference?

In the end it all comes down to the love/professionalism one puts in his job and his products. Some do it to make things in the best way possible and be proud of their work. But I suspect this way of working is disappearing in todays economy

I don’t know how to even watch this guy videos.

All the things he shots on screen without even the time to understand what they are 😶

At least he puts a “fast flashing images” warning at the beginning, so that epileptic guys can avoid to suffer for 3 months after seeing the first 20 seconds of his videos 😂😂😂

Q1 is already over, and this week is coming to an end — yet there’s still nothing new available for download on my unit. This is really disappointing. I mean, really, really disappointing. So many promises, and yet nothing has reached a final conclusion… 🤐😒

…it will disappoint you with more broken promises when it comes to upgrades then the GTA franchise.

Normally, at the first glance [ the device ] is ticking all the [ fill in the blanks ] boxes… but this time:

    …I didn’t know what I was getting myself into… 🫣

After that, his first complaints are about the (absurd) requirement to have the M+ activated through your NI account, and therefore no hybrid workflow for him… well he did receive a pre-setup standalone unit, otherwise he couldn’t have used it standalone neither.

Key takeaway is that the current version of Maschine+ is showing its age due to the lack of upgrades. And, as Maschine Plus’ desktop-DAW and plugin-based software architecture requires quite some processing power, it will be quite challenging to run Kontakt 8 or Stems separation on its ALDI PC 😬 hardware.

I would consider this all very bad publicity for NI.

So hopefully we’re allowed to use the M+ on the ‘final version 2’ anytime soon, and that it will be integrated as-is as a standalone with version 3 on desktop. For this it would also be nice if a stripped down version of the K8 player would make its way onto version 2 on the M+, but for the rest of the promises I won’t hold my breath. Oh yeah… please remove the online activation. Find another way to prevent Expansion pack theft.

Anyway, a nice quirk at the end of the video… 😅

@MaikR that's just what I was thought when I read it! Deja Vu. 🤔

I just want to be able to use my maschine plus in standalone mode. I got it from ebay and I'm being told that if they can't get in contact with the seller, there is nothing that can be done legally to allow for me to use the "standalone" device smh.

The problem with those comparisons is hobby vs employment vs number of individuals involved, examples….
    1. 1 man app builder, works on the app non stop in their spare time to get their passion project finished vs a bunch of people who rarely if ever use the product, developing it for a wage, from experience an 8 hour working day with a waged developer is probably 4 hours work on creating a feature that nobody really asked for, but the developer had decided that that was easiest to do next.
    2. 1 man app builder gets to make the decisions on the fly with zero input from others, maybe floating a video demo etc to see what others (users) online think, vs a bunch of paid developers who are deciding on which feature to implement from a list given to them by a project lead that is governed and directed by a marketing team, non of these actually use or really care about the product or user base, all while being asked or even redirected to more important projects, as deemed fit by the marketing overlords.

No larger company ever has the chance of competing with a 1/2/3 man shop, it is an impossibility on a single product to single product basis, look at how a two man team at Cockos absolutely tears other DAWs apart with the amount of updates on Reaper.
NI is not a small shop, they have a ton of employees and a ton of products that they have to get to market and maintain, add to this a power structure within the company that has to report back to owners who care about one thing, profits, that is their job, that is what they do.
I am not saying have patience because I have been in on this now probably as long if not longer than anyone else here, so yeah I get it, NI suck at this stuff, but the comparisons are bad, the update DOES exist, it will get released, it is not the end for Maschine+, even if they stop developing it.

@Flexi - okay I read through the comments twice, so you were not asking anyone to be patient. What's your point actually?
