Why are only certain buttons allowed to be mapped

I'm attempting to map the record function to my board. There are multiple unmapped buttons that are being recognized by Traktor, as the icon lights up when pressed. Even still, when I try to press them after "learn" nothing happens.

It seems I can only actually re-map my effects buttons (Filter on, fx on/off buttons, knobs). I'm not sure why that is, as I would assume I could re-map any button on the board.

    It might be one of hybrid controllers with built-in mappings that should be addressed in the following updates.

    Numark 4trak, definitely an older controller.
