Mapping generic midi (jam) change pad color

Hiya

I have started to map my jam for Traktor 4 pro and I was wondering where I could find the explanation of all the functions within the mapping…..

At the moment I am stuck with

1. Changing pad color…

-I assigned a stem toggle on & off on one pad (add in/deck common/submix/slot mute on/ — Assignment to deck slot 1 / button toggle …so far so good

Now I have assigned an ad out, but I get stuck. No color change is available, or I don't see how to assign a different color…

Plan B: I open the editor, open a new template, set the same pad type: control change, mode: toggle, Action: on down, dual-mode, and set 2 different colors…..

So now it works, The color changes between on & off but I need to press twice to toggle it on & off….lol not very useful

any help will be much appreciated

How you mapping looks actually? (screenshots would be nice)

It is best to use "Indexed" LED mode inside the Controller Editor (not Controller Manager) and then use MIDI Range min and max value to determine the color output for both on and off states.

Hi Stevan, Thank you very much for your advice. It took me a little while to find the indexed mode option, but now I have made it work as intended…..

I noticed not all the pads can have the color changed, the bottom row of the jam ( play-rec-rewind-c2, etc….) doesn't have an index option….Any way around that?

My next question, which maybe someone can answer……. I already assigned a kill high on one of the pads with a toggle function. Would it be possible to assign a hold state to the same pad that would be connected to the stip band below and control the volume of high with the strip band?

    • 1 - Only the RGB supported buttons have the Indexed option. If you are not seeing it then the button has a single color support.

2 - Need more info. It is not clear what you want to do with that maping.

    Ok, thx Stevan

I am trying to map the stems layout on the jam….the idea is to have 4 pads x 3 pads (4 stems horizontal and below 2 rows with the corresponding & FX , Fx send ), deck A & B on one page, perhaps C & D on the same page…..

Row 1 would be from pad 1 to 3, (1)Stem slot 1 drum, (2)filter,(3) fx send… on holding one of the pads i would control one of the strips below to adjust the volume of the pad selected…..

    Is possible to do that?

On another note, are you the famous Stevan from Traktor Mapping?
