Kontakt 7 and 8 make new Mac Studio crash and reboot

    I have passed on all the crash reports etc to NI support which they say they have passed on to developers but no solution I’m aware of yet. It’s frustrating that I can’t just roll my Mac back to a working OS like Sonoma, I don’t get why that can’t be done…

    I started to get the same issue after connecting a new Dell 5K monitor (U4025QW). Running on a Mac with M2 Max. Maschine 2 and Kontakt 6 works fine, but Maschine 3 and Kontakt 7 and 8 causes the Mac to crash. Also Komplete Kontrol inside Logic Pro. The Apple crash report states "panic(cpu 8 caller 0xfffffe002dddbc04): "mismatched swapID's 40754 vs 40755\n" @UnifiedPipeline.cpp:13260". It works if I only use the laptop screen or with my old monitor, but not with the 5K resolution.

    What's interesting is that if you google "@UnifiedPipeline.cpp:13260" you will see other applications like SketchUp having the same issue, but it was mitigated by disabling some graphics setting. Maybe NI uses some new graphic libraries for their new generation of applications?

    I created a report to NI in January with crash reports and screen recording, but still no fix. Why is it taking so long?

    thanks for that I had heard the monitor may be an issue but I tried lowering the refresh rate from 120 to 60 but made no difference.

    Also @ Jeremy I purchased session jam bass and sunburst bass today. Sunburst works great but session bass won’t open in kontakt 7 stating it is too old a version so as there is no available update I can only assume kontakt 8 is needed so I have a new plugin for £89 that doesn’t run on my system. Are there any indications of a fix? Thanks

    I've tried that too. For some strange reason it works better when I have the lid open or if I run without scaling, but it's almost impossible to read or control anything at full 5120x2160 resolution… And I wrote "better" as it only gives you a longer period without crashing. The crash is inevitable sooner or later with the newer versions.

    All of Arturia, IK Multimedia and Universal Audio software works without any issues. It’s only the NI software that is giving me trouble. :(

    If you scroll down the product page of Jam Bass at NI web site, the At a glance table mentions “For use with: Free Kontakt Player version 8.2.0 and higher, or Kontakt version 8.2.0 and higher.“.

    You can install the free Kontakt Player 8 to use this library as the former will co-exist with Kontakt / Kontakt Player 7.

    that’s annoying, I missed that. Unfortunately kontakt 8 makes my new Mac Studio on Sequoia instantly crash. Its the only plugin that does this
