    Only with Utopia? Not with other products? Have you set up anything special? A special audio routing in Kontakt or for this library?

    so how freaked out should I be that you know the exact instrument (Utopia) that I tried last night to test this?

    I didn’t have time to keep experimenting with other instruments last night- had to go watch Severence 😂 This behavior has occurred with all instruments I have tried at some point. But, like I said, it’s hit or miss. Sometimes it works, and sometimes, it doesn’t.


    As far as custom settings or routing- nope. I just load Kontakt in the Instrument slot in Logic Pro, scroll through instruments and snapshots on the MK3 keyboard, and after selecting one with the big knob, the MK3 screen goes to the Default MIDI template, and the Plug In and Browser buttons become unavailable.

    I think you mentioned Utopia first ;-)

    I'm going to ask the engineering team to take a look because this is pretty odd.

    Just to ask the questions over again (I know I know);

    Are you absolutely sure you have the latest versions installed:

    Kontakt 7.10.7

    NI Hardware Connection Service 1.8.7

    Kontrol S MK3 firmware 1.8.7

    Logic 11.1.2

    And can you confirm again that the keyboard is connected to a USB-C hub before connection to the computer?

    Ah. I have tried multiple instruments with similar results. But last night in particular was Utopia.

    yes, all current versions of those softwares are installed. The first thing I did was to make sure I have the most current versions running before trying all the troubleshooting steps above.


    yes, definitely connected through powered USB-C Hub. And it works as normal as standalone application and KK works as normal with the MK3 in Logic Pro. It’s just Kontakt.

    It is definitely odd behavior, especially it seems to be intermittent. Is it possible that it is a Logic Pro project setting that is corrupted? I can create some new Logic Pro projects and see if I can replicate the Kontakt/MK3 behavior.
