    You can still use Kontakt 8.1. Newer libraries require the latest Kontakt version. Apple releases an operating system every year, it is not possible given the size of our portfolios to support more than the last 3 Mac OS.

    If Apple doesn't allow you to update your operating system on your computer, you can ask for a refund for your library if it's not compatible with yopur operating system.

    I can still use contact 5, 6 and 7 too but I'd like 8.2 as it has new features.

    I may have mentioned that I don't use a mac and the issues are not in any way related to thr OS or PC spec.

    As I have explained I had to do a manual install of Kontakt 8 but it now fails to upgrade in Access.

    Still no help from NI but when resolved will post up.

    Just been sent a link to download 8.2, whilst this is satisfactory the issue has not been fixed and will have to go thru the the same process next time its updated.

    So this case is not closed!

    RESOLVED!

    My os (win10) had not updated to the 'Very Latest Version' and had to do so manually. Not sure why this had happened but now its running the latest I can see Kontact has now auto updated to 8.2.1. via NI Access.

    I encountered this issue as well.

    I have Kontakt 8.1 installed on macOS 12.7.6 and could not figure out how to update to Kontakt 8.2.

    Turns out 8.2 requires macOS 13 and above and macOS 12 is the last supported OS for my computer :(

    Why the change in OS requirements mid-cycle? And with only a .2 update at that. I can't say I've encountered this with any other software I use. Usually big changes in OS requirements happen with new versions (8.x, 9.x, etc.), at least in my experience.

    New features are one thing, but missing out on fixes in point updates for software that was supported for your system when you got it not long ago is very unfortunate.

    I get it. My computer is a little older. It runs perfectly and handles everything I throw at it. I will get a newer computer someday, but changing requirements mid-cycle? I can understand if we were talking about Kontakt 9.0 and its new requirements, but these were not the requirements with Kontakt 8.0 and 8.1.

    Why?
