Traktor 3.9 is -almost- "crashing" (no sound, blurry waveforms)

    Been trying to mainly use Traktor since v4 got released. Unfortunately, there was another "blurry" crash during a set, in a venue full of people, for the same unknown reason that no one cares to sort out.

    Thank you Native Instruments.

    The crash has happened for me while doing different things, but one that has triggered it more than once is listening to a track in the Preview Player on my S4MK3. Perhaps mentioning it helps shed a light into the root of the problem. This in no way exclusive to using the Preview Player though, as the crash has happened while doing other stuff.

    Had this problem 5 or so times in the past 6 months on an Intel MacBook, totally infuriating and completely random. It's nothing to do with the audio files as they'll play fine for 100 sets before and after this problem.

    Hello everyone! I believe that I have found the cause of this problem that has been causing all the crashes. The problem is not Traktor, it's ASIO4ALL. Every time I am analyzing new songs or trying out new music without plugging in any of my controllers and I am using ASIO4ALL (because Dj Endo recommended this on the "How to optimize pcs for djing") and I close the programe with the last interface being ASIO4ALL when I go to play with my controller the blurry waveform crash occurs. I stopped using ASIO4ALL and no crash in any gig.
    @Native Instruments please check this issue and if that is the case, issue a fix or stop recommending ASIO4ALL.

    I believe those who've experienced the issue on Mac computers don't have ASIO4ALL.

    I use ASIO (official driver for any of my controllers) but not ASIO4ALL, also as you mention correctly Mac users are not using any ASIO driver.

    This has -probably- nothing to do with audio drivers.

    Again i tend to believe that the cause is the way Traktor is -unable- handling connections or disconnections of USB interfaces/storages.

    @SpirosG I also use the official Native Instruments ASIO drivers when Im djing with the S4, however when I am at home and I am analyzing new tracks to create the beatgrids, If I don't have the S4 plugged in, Traktor prompts me to use an output source. I can either use Intel's WASAPI drivers in shared mode, or I can use ASIO4ALL . When I use ASIO4ALL and I go for a gig and plug my S4 then the crash occurs. Ever since I stopped using ASIO4ALL I 've never had the blurry incident occur.
    Maybe the problem isn't necessarily the ASIO4ALL driver maybe it has to do with the usage of a different ASIO driver other than the one Native created.
    If the problem was really the USB interface, why is it that everytime we force restart Traktor after the blur we have no issues and everything works as it should have.

    @DJDL

    Maybe the problem isn't necessarily the ASIO4ALL driver maybe it has to do with the usage of a different ASIO driver other than the one Native created. When you want to import new music into the Traktor library and want to analyze new songs do you have your controller plugged in or not?
    Most of the times that I analyze new music or check new tracks I don't have my S4 plugged in and I simply use the built in laptop speakers. Windows doesn't have built in ASIO drivers and this is why dj Endo was recommending downloading ASIO4ALL.
