  • I AM HAVING SUPER FRUSTRATINBG TIME WITH KK and KONTAKT

  • When I open KK with Kontakt7 thre are several serious issues. I would like to confirm first if it is only me, or other users have similar problems.
  • 1) The ZOOM (which is available in KONTAKT7 alone) is missing
  • 2) The external libraries (which I have spent over 3 hours to add) show up when I load KK onto the track. When I then decide to reload a different LIB and reopen the LIB list, they are gone
  • 3) There is no sclain option (in the tight bottom corner)

Any suggestions, clues etc ???
Woudl appreciate any help or at lest confirming is this is a global issue

    1. Zoom is still available, firstly KK loads Kontakt with whatever Zoom settings you had already set so generally there's no need to be able to access ZOOM all the time - it's something you 'set and forget' so to speak. However what you see when you load Kontakt (as with many NI instruments) is a stripped down GUI, but if you open the full GUI (Edit View) you can access all commands from Kontakt including Zoom
    2. By external libraries do you mean libraries you had to import into the Kontakt browser? (ie non NKS). KK only shows NKS libraries in its own browser, that is by design and not a bug. They should still be showing in the Kontakt browser though (and are for me) - btw you can add them if you resave them as .nksf patches but imho there's not much point as they are not meant to be NKS instruments so have no mappings etc (unless you have a very small library and really want to add them yourself - which I have done for a couple I really love but it's a lot of work)
    3. Explain what you mean by 'sclain'?

No ZOOM is not available all the time. It is not available in KK until I reload KONTAKT7. For some reason KK loads Kontakt5 or 6 (not sure why). When I load KK thre is an option EDIT VIEW (which is also unavailable until some patch is loaded). That in itself is like made by some ****** individual (because from the square one I cannot see bigger fonts, until I open a patch).

The whole integration of KONTAKT and current KK is a total disaster (at least for the version I use).

This is even worse than I thought. Now I open my old projects and tons of KK tracks has missing plugin (KK).

This is of course because I did updated KK to the latest version, and there was no info or warning of any kind, about loosing the track content. I noticed that hundreds of other users got into the same problem.

"scalin" = SCALING (no so hard to fugure out, but I am sorry for typo…)

Not only this. Right this moment I am trying to apply (open) a LIB preset and it is giving me info that this preset cannot be opened in KONTAKT 7 (embeded in KK). Kontakt shows in KK duplicated and I am assuming one is VST2 and another VST3, but there is no way to know which is which. Total ******!

I do music for over 16 years and never had so many issues with any other software as I have with NI Komplete Kontorl & Kontakt.

So now I discovered about 12 projects with missing KK(vst2). That is over one year of my work !

I could replace it with KK-vst3 but even when I do I have lost the preset setting for that track. How can I retrieve it ? I see no other way than restoring a backups from 6 months+ ago (which would take 2-3 days to dif and do).

Now I am trying to simply open a patch and get an empty screen. The LIBs are in place, I scanned the database Lib, no fix. OMG! I can't believe I am using such a trash spftware.

I just paid few hundred $$$ for an update and ended up with tons of issues :-(

Last time I opened these projects everything worked. Few months later after an update I cannot use it anymore and have lost tons of work.

By external libraries I mean these which had to be open through the FILE option on the menu and did not showed up in the KONTAKT panel. I noticed when I load KONTAKT (alone) these libraries show up, but when I load KONTAKT inside KK they do not show up. I alos noticed they load in Kontakt only first time I open it in KK, but when I reopen the library list , external libs do not show up anymore. I have to then remove KK from the track and then they show up. Another words they only show up once (when the KK is opened on a specific track).

I also tried QUICK LOAD , hoping that his helps, because old fashioned FILE option on the left panel is gone, but QUICK LOAD works for some LIBs and does not for others. I understand that some NKS files might be incompatible with Quick Load, but there should be still some easier option to load these libs than digginf in FILE EXPLORER in Windows and" clicking to death" to find the firht foler'/file.

Well obviously since zoom was only introduced in Kontakt 7. If you are using Kontakt 7 or 8 then Zoom is available exactly as I stated. You said nothing about Kontakt 5 in your post I was responding to and it is not relevant to my point. It sounds like you have not enabled the toggle in options to only use the latest versions of NI products.

The other issues seem to be to do with the transition from VST2 to VST3 in NI products. Probably best for a separate thread?
