Hi,

I've recently purchased Komplete 14 and i'm not able to download anything on Native Access as it gets stuck. It has downloaded 20mb in 8 hours and i highly doubt this is normal. Just wondering if there's a workaround solution to this? Quite frustrated that I am not able to download and install anything with my new purchase. Thanks

Congrats on the purchase. How are your attempting to download - via wi-fi or wired connection?

If it's wi-fi - you will be at it for a very long time.

Download speed is also dependant on where you live, your local ISP infrastructure, proximity to the closest NI server and other things which you cannot control.

Some ISPs throttle download speeds. NI servers themselves are bandwidth regulated so no one user can take over a server.

Lots of potential breakpoints - but wi-fi is your first weak point if that is what you are using.

thanks for your reply @Vocalpoint! I'm on a wired connection with 1gbps speeds so don't think the bandwidth is an issue. Never had this issue previously hence i'm suspecting its related to Native Access or some sort of downtime in the NI servers…I've been trying to download the whole day now with nothing being able to complete

How many instruments are you trying to do at once?

If it were me - I would pick 1 or 2 at a time and see how that goes.

Could be just a very busy time in your area or on the NI servers. Not much can be done from a network standpoint if bandwidth along the way from your location to an NI server is compromised.

We are all only as strong as the weakest link when it comes to downloading anything.

If you suspect N.I. servers to be the issue then try a VPN to see if that changes anything.

What is your OS version ? and Native Access version ? It has been seen in between that Native Access and NTKDaemon issues influences downloads and in some cases then a re-install of those has helped.

Also appear as you are on Mac , so also always check that you have done the ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats

thanks @PoorFellow using a vpn directed to UK sped up the downloads significantly! (at least moving) I'm located in Malaysia and it seems that the Asian servers are having issues. Being an owner of NI products for the past 15 years, I've never had this issue in the past 😔

I'll second that, a few items at a time is what I did when downloading my Collectors Edition 14. It took the best part of two days to finish everything but I never had any hiccups. I was still at a previous version of NA though. Don't remember which one but it was before 3.10.3.

Your Malaysia ISP probably throttles anything it can identify as a download or other heavy network user. By using a VPN, you probably are giving them no clues as to your work being done, and they don't want to annoy a big-time commercial user, so they don't throttle.

I also thought of this: It may also be possible that NI throttles the servers for countries that don't do a lot of business with NI. I'm thinking maybe to discourage potential hacking attempts from that part of the world. I don't know if that could be true or if Malaysia would be a heavy or light source of customers (or a heavy or light source of hackers) for NI, but hey.
