Moving from K6 to K7
When I open Kontakt from within my DAW (DP) it opens but it's opening 6. I think NI was doing that because of recent problems. I have now downloaded the new 7 and it's there in my samples folder but the 6 is also there named "Kontakt" is what opens.
I seem to have Kontakt in two places. One in the computer's Applications/Native Instruments (see screenshot) and the other on my external ssd: SAMPLES/KONTAKT SOUNDS
I am confused. Is this normal or am I all screwed up with them in two places?

Would it be as simple as deleting the "Kontakt" item and then going to the Kontakt 7 item and removing the 7?

You might want to check your installation paths. Kontakt 7 should not appear in your Content destination.
As for replacing Kontakt (6) with Kontakt 7 then please read this : Notes about Auto-Migration of Kontakt Versions in DAW Projects . Please note that Kontakt 7 as VST is VST3 only.
