I took the plunge, after reading all I could find about it, and opted to upgrade to win 10 with the 'keep all apps' route and I am happy to say it has worked out well. In fact there was also a Kontakt update which didn't show in NA in win7 for win10 so I am happy.

I just have one issue with a Behringer BCF2000, getting the faders to work as with win7, but I think that is a Reaper DAW issue (or fat fingered user) rather than win10.

Also got the start menu to be like win7 and got rid of a lot of stuff I won't use 😀
