Traktor pro 3 hardware support ? (e.g. Pioneer cdj3000s & xone96)

Hi I am looking to upgrade my hardware from the mk3. I am looking at pioneer cdj3000s and an Allen and heath xone96. How do people use tractor pro 3 software with external hardware?
I am not super techy but I think you plug into the mixer? Thank you for help in answering.
