No sound from Komplete Kontrol - bug or normal?

Well - If open that George Duke piano here - in KK v2.9.6 - all I see is the instrument.
No Kontakt headers, no Kontakt "Library" items, no keyboard, nothing like that.
We must be using some very different settings and workflow.

Easy, try changing the view to "Edit View": click the 3 points in KK, view, Edit view.
Have a look at the shown Keyboard of Kontakt: no sound by mouse-clicking, no colored areas. At least on my system (MacOs 13).

Ok - I went into the Grandeur and finally understand what you are doing.
Here is the piano how I would always use ANY instrument in KK (View->Default View):
And then here is what it looks like in View->Edit View:
This is the "look" that made me think you were opening Kontakt "inside" KK - when all you were really doing was exposing the UI controls. My apologies.
However - regardless of the "look" here - with an S61 MKII connected - the piano works (gives off sound) whether I hit my physical keyboard (View 1) or use the mouse to clink around the virtual board as displayed in View 2
If you cannot hear anything in your case (view 2) - the only think I can think of is an audio routing issue of some sort going on here.

Interesting: on your system it shows blue keys - in my case the keys are white and don't give a sound via mouse click. Only when I close the instrument and open it for the second time.
Are you on Windows or like me on MacOs?

Windows 10 (22H2) and very important to know that I use Komplete Kontrol v2.9.6 and not KKv3

Yep I thought your blue KK icon looked different :)
It could be MacOs related or KK V3 related.
I will post infos when my support ticket gets updated. Support is on it.

I got Windows 10 too , and and in View Edit View then my on-screen keyboard does not work either ! I am on Komplete Kontrol 3.2.0 Also , so most likely another Komplete Kontrol 3.2 bug ! . I got an KK S61 MK2 , it's the same whether my keyboard is on or not. Instrument works fine with keyboard but not with the on-screen keyboard ! I tried loading another preset , doesn't make any difference !
EDIT !!! , My problem could be that my graphics card is too old it just dawned on me , so I am up really early to correct and write this. I thought that I were on the safe side since my graphics card is a GTX760 , but no , I just checked ! Feature_level on the GTX760 is only 11_0 , looks like I managed to live up to my user name here for once ๐คฃ

Wuhuu narrowing it down to most likely a KK 3 problem. Thank you @PoorFellow!
It did not occure with previous KK versions, just wasn't sure which version exactly.
Support is on it, so no more tickets needed :)

I had to EDIT !!! my post above because my problem could be that my graphics card is too old, it just dawned on me , so I am up really early to correct and write this. I thought that I were on the safe side since my graphics card is a GTX760 (not lowest tier model) , but no , I just checked ! Feature_level on the GTX760 is only 11_0 , I haven't had the money yet to buy a new graphics card (I spent money on my cat at the Vet instead and it looks as that is not over yet for this time either)(a previous problem cost me around โฌ1500 and I won't kill the cat this time either if I can avoid it) , so it looks like I managed to live up to my user name here for once. ๐คฃ ๐คฃ Looks like I will have to do something about that ! ๐ค (re-arrange financials to handle that)
Please forgive me my mistake this is the first problem I have had with Kontakt or anything N.I. software, so I had no need to check anything prior despite anything else. You know ! , if it works then my system is OK and if another have the same problem then it can not be my rig ! Well , I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the problem here is the too low feature level of my own graphics card.
Again ! My apologies for this major screw up ! ๐ฅ ๐ฅ

Bug is filed under this reference: KBDSW-7875
If you load an instrument from the browser inside Kontakt (inside of Komplete Kontrol), then you can play the keys, so it's most likely related to the NKS2 implementation.

I am glad that Jeremy found the real cause. ๐ But I personally could not risk raising it as an N.I. issue when my graphics card clearly is too poor and there were a risk that it could have been the cause of the issue !. ๐ค ๐คฃ ๐ค

My graphics card is now upgraded (swapped) to one with feature level 12_1 so there ought be no more mishaps of the kind above ! ๐

I do not even use a graphics card so none of this is really a "thing" for me.
