Using the Batch Re-save Function for maybe Older KONTAKT Libraries
I just updated K6 to K7. K7.6.1 under Windows 10 both stand alone and VST. I followed the easy instructions here:
Adding a Non-Player Library to KONTAKT 7's Library Browser
I added an 8Dio studio solo sax. 8Dio says it requires K5.8.1. or higher.
Hit close. No folder shows up in Custom Libraries or User Presets. No user folder is showing up anywhere.
I did try a batch re-save too.
Start K7. Select batch re-save. Yes to the warnings. Navigate to 8Dio Studio Solo Sax, select folder, it scans re-saving patches, taking about 45 seconds, then the batch re-save box closes and I'm back to the K7 content browser.
Click the cogwheel in the bottom left again, under import content>user presets, highlight the studio sax folder
press re-scan, close the Import Content box and no added folder shows up.
There must be something obviously wrong, but I'm lost.

Do you mean you can't properly open 8Dio instrument or something?

No. All I'm attempting to do is what probably every other K7 user has done successfully.
The 8Dio Library is 5.8.1 is just an example, so it should work with just the first part above. Since it didn't, I tried the 2nd part the batch re-save, but have had no luck.
I have had no success adding any 3rd party libraries to the K7 library browser. The only libraries that show up are the ones from Native Access, plus a couple other 3rd parties that work through Native Access such as Shimmer Shake Strike.
All the tutorials I have watched make the process look like a breeze. Just follow the steps in "adding a non-player library to K7s library browser" and once complete, the folder icon shows up as expected.
It does not here, and I must be doing something obviously wrong.

Is your problem putting the 8Dio file into Kontakt?

The problem is "adding a non-player library to K7s library browser." Did you click on the link I wrote? And click on "adding a non-player library to K7s library browser?"
Those steps do not result in any added folder.
Watch this:
Do you see at :35 where the folder is successfully added? That does not happen here with any non-player library.

I watched the video and it was successfuly added for that person.
I would recommend an alternative: to have an OG Rack view, and then opening the instrument by going to the Files, and then opening the 3rd party library instrument on the file where the library exists.
I did that and I no longer needed to open any 3rd party sounds eith Library.

It was successfully added for the person that made the video, as well as other people who have made basically the same videos and I would assume thousands of other NI users doing this daily.
This is one of the main new selling features of K7 when it was released over a year ago. After 6 Kontakt versions over 20 years, actually creating a system where non-player libraries get a faster/better way of opening.
Apologies, but I have no clue what "OG Rack view" is? Do you mean adding a non-player library like in all prior versions of Kontakt by opening the side pane, going to the files tab, then locating and opening? Other than Quick Load, that's the only way I have been opening non-player libraries since the beginning of Kontakt.

OG Rack view is the saying of those people who used the versions before Kontakt 7.
You know, Kontakt 2, Kontakt 3 etc...
Here is a screenshot:
That is the 'OG Rack View' as we Kontakt users like to call it.
Now, when you are done setting up the old Rack view, just go to the Files button, right beside the Libraries button, and then search for the specific instrument you need.
But before you do that, you need to make sure you know in which file did you put 8Dio libraries, and the go to the Files, which is, again, beside the Libraries button, and then you will eventually find the library you are looking for.
Here is my example:
For example, I want to load the Mute Guitar from Pulse plugins but I can't find them on the Libraries.
Well, I just go to the files while knowing beforehand where I put the Mute plugin and boom!
I loaded the plugin!

OG Rack view. OK...it's the normal Kontakt view I have used for the past 20 years. Sorry, I know how to load an instrument via the files tab which is what you described above.
Again, look at the video I posted above. That is what I want to do. I want to take advantage of that new K7 feature that is not found in prior Kontakt versions.
