Light guide and host automation

After updates on Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt 7 I have lost the light guide and the host automation on my S88 that used to work when I opened Kontakt within Komplete Kontrol. Any way to get it back?

Sounds like it’s left the old (new) version of the plugin so try manually deleting the KK plugin then reinstall making sure you have selected to install the plugin versions too

Do you use a DAW?
If you do, just use the in-DAW automation.
Let me know if it helped, sir.

If it's a MK1 then those are no longer compatible and you will run into issues using it with the new software. If it is MK2 or above then @Milos has a good idea here, DAW automation is the default one you want to use anyway. Some plugins can write automation but the DAW automation tends to be better integrated and more flexible.
If not you could try record your playing and then record your knob movements etc and then have that as automation but baked into an audio file.
I'm just speculating at a solution because I'm not sure what your production process is

Yes, I can use the automation in Cubase, but for some libraries it is eaiser to tweak the knobs on the keyboard. The loss of light guides is a bigger issue. Generally, I'm sorry that I'm in less controle on my Komplete Kontrol keyboard as software updates emerge. Still hoping that there's just something I don't understand.
Thanks:)

No problem, sir,

I'm afraid it's an MK1. I guess, then, that the idea is to force users to buy new keybords;) But, as I wrote, not being able to use the automation knobs is not a big issue since I can use the DAW. Losing the light guides is worse, and it's a bit annoying knowing that the functionality is still in the hardware. I think that new software should be an improvement in all regards.

Well, time to jump ship to the DAW automtion, sir.

You need to revert to 2.9.6 which is the last supported version for Series I keyboards

Great! Seems ok in standalone now, but in my DAW (Cubase) Komplete Control opens in the new version. I'm sure there's a simple fix to this, but I have little technical understanding....

Once I was abel to locate the MK2 VST under common files and removed it, I installed the latest supported version, and it all looks fine now! I will just be careful not to update my Komplete Kontrol software before I can afford a new keyboard;)
