Plugin uses GPU more or less if visible. And probably not at all if not visible.

Me was told that Maschine use the CPU to render the GUI.

Does Maschine meanwhile render its GUI using the GPU ?

You have asked about GPU and plugins.... But Maschine also uses GPU for sure. But the question may be if tasks that might be done by GPU it does using CPU, or GPU. But generally, the interface is not very GPU intensive, so IMHO it does not make much difference, if all possible rendering computations are done by GPU, or some of them also by CPU...

In the end, after reading / watching reviews, I opt for the MBP 14" pro with M1 Pro and not the newer one.

No GPU usage in synths (although there's gpu audio start up on the horizon...https://www.gpu.audio/ ) , huge price difference and it doesn't seem that the CPU will be loaded.
