1 day a week? geez... I need to find the willpower to finish a programming course!!

@Kubrak that sounds like the right philosophy. I was trained briefly as an "ergonomic assessor" for a company I worked for, and so when I would build and troubleshoot PCs for people, I would also check their chair, armrest, desk/height, monitor height/angle, and even sometimes the fluorescent lights above their heads. (sometimes we turned them off because they give people eye and head pain!)
I tried my best to also listen to me own advice (which is a lot like you say above), but.... I got injured from falling down in 2009, and I stopped my dancing, exercise (jogging, weights, stretching) and became more sedentary. Then COVID happened.... and my whole family has been stuck inside for these 3 years. We are now more out of shape than ever in our lives. Because of the last 3 years, old injuries and new ergonomic injuries have happened.
We are inspired by your story, however, and we know you are right about everything you say. We are trying to get up, move around more, take more breaks, sit up straight, but life has "lowered our heads" a little lately. : /

Yes, corona times were difficult ones. But still, even illegal, I went dancing most of the time. I did not go in peak times, as my partner was against, so I respected it. And also my parents are old and I wanted to avoid to risk that I infect them.
But, I am not vaccinated, but no COVID, so far. I even went for tests, to know if I had it and did not notice. But no, nothing. The same my partner and our little son.
But the situation was frustrating. Much less move, I gained few kilograms... Much more sitting, much less moving. And mainly mentally. I haven't seen any of my customers in flesh for more than two years... Everything has slowed down, down, down.
Generally, I understand, it took so long to move their SW to Apple Silicon, VST3 and so, on. People have switched them to standby to stand that situation.
Dancing, swimming, or just walking is good for spine.

Yes, but it is sort of result of past 20 years of very intensive work. I have made very specialised SW for a customer and now get paid for support it works flawlessly. And it works flawlessly, so no much work. I could work even less, but I would feel "guilty" to get paid for "nothing", so I monitor, that everything works fine in my system and also in systems, that feed data to my system, and do not wait for customers to tell me there is a problem to be solved. I tell them, there is a problem that they should solve.
Most of my "work" now, is to scan that other systems work fine, not mine. So in fact, I get paid for an hour a week to scan my system and work voluntirely for free the rest of the day to scan related systems.
