    People are mixing things in this thread, OP is about the difference between Maschine Mode and MIDI Mode "sensitivity", meaning the issue is only with MIDI Mode. Other issues are unrelated.

    There are not. At this point i'd assume it's a safe bet that it will never be fixed.

    Yes, this is SW / firmware, no cleaning will fix this particular issue altho there are tricks to improve the actuation point, usually that means adding extra material between the pads and sensor sheet, in the MPC world corks mods were popular back in the day, never seen anyone do it with modern Maschine controllers tho.

    Even if the Mod works it means that MIDI Mode might get better but then Maschine mode will be hyper sensitive.
