MK3 and Traktor F1 integration?
I was watching part 3 of the Maschine Beat Making masterclass (which is quite awesome btw) and noticed at the end the presenter used an F1 to control a specific group in maschine. I love the idea of having another smaller 4x4 grid of pads as a controller. One specific use case I would have is to control scenes on the F1 and use the MK3 controller for everything else. I wasn't able to find a way to send a midi signal that would control scenes so it doesn't look like I can do that. Is that even possible? Has anybody done any other integration with MK3 and a Traktor F1? I'd like to hear other use cases before I pull the trigger and purchase an F1.

Actually, it is indeed possible to trigger Scenes via MIDI, it's also possible to trigger Sections and Lock States.
Just click the down arrow next to the Maschine logo and select
Edit
>MIDI Change
and enable it.C-2 will trigger the 1st Scene, C#-2 the 2nd, and so on... So just map the F1 to send those notes and it will work.

hey @bzyboy - nice! do you have a link to share for the master class?
my hunch is that you would switch the F1 into MIDI mode and then map it within Maschine:
How to Switch Your Native Instruments Controller to MIDI Mode
I haven't had a chance to try it myself, but maybe this will work for you.

Thanks for the reply Ryan. The video is part 3 of the series done by Boris from NI. Here's the link along with the location he talks about using the F1:
He goes into good detail on how to use the F1 to control a group and a couple parameters of an effect, but I don't see how that could be done with scenes. I'd like to have the F1 control all the scene changes and use the MK3 for everything else. So basically I want the pad grid of the F1 to look like (and control like) the pad grid of the MK3 when it's in scene mode. Let me know if this is possible or not. Thanks in advance!

AFAIK Scenes aren't midi mappable.

Thanks for replying awol9000, I don't think it is either, bummer!

I stand corrected.

Is there a way to change the note assignments? For example instead of starting at C-2, start at C-1?

No, sorry. It's fixed.
There's a bunch of free software out there to intercept and change MIDI values tho, search for that if you're stuck.

Thanks again D-One, I'll set it up using program changes or look into an app that will change the MIDI values. I appreciate all your help!
