    He's referring to the USB hub on the back of these mixers (S7 and S11). Connect the CDJs directly to it. Now connect your computer to the USB interface and, in sessions with other DJs, simply switch decks from A to B, or vice versa when playing together.

    The DJM-S9 and some other mixers don't have a hub on the back, you would need to have your own USB hub (powered) in these scenarios.

    As always, make sure you have the latest drivers installed for the dedicated mixer and update the firmware.

    If you're using a mixer with two soundcards and a usb hub, then when switching A/B on the mixer, the CDJs should be plug and play with Traktor. I don't think you would need to plug anything in your laptop except the cable from the mixer because the mixer is also a usb hub.

    Sorry that was a typo, I meant S9 is the only one you'd need to remove the CDJs from the other DJ's laptop or USB hub.

    There is nothing stopping you buying an X1 MK3 and pressing play on that or using your trackpad, but unfortunately there is no other way to move seamlessly with the S9 than to put a few tunes on a USB stick and do it that way.

    With Traktor in HID, if the CDJs are plugged into the mixer (S7 and S11) then Traktor will pick them up when you plug your laptop into the other USB port on the back of the mixer.

    It works EXACTLY the same as if you were using one of Pioneer's all in one controllers like a DDJ-SZ.
    I had one of those for 10+ years and did weddings with my brother. He would be on Serato on Inputs A and I was on Traktor on Inputs B. It was seamless for us.

    With the S7 and S11 it should be really seamless. What aren't you understanding correctly?

    I struggle with Traktor and hip hop. Doing little scratch ins on the drop, and every time there is a lag.


    not sure if I have a setting wrong. So much easier to do scratch ins on serato
