Does the 16X outputs actually work.....

I recently revisited the idea of using the Kontakt drums in the Maschine software to play like the Maschine expansions. There were a few discussion topics here on the forum and YouTube videos that I have found and tried and recently tried again with Kontakt 7/8 and I still can not get the drums routed to individual tracks in a group using the Maschine software. My question is, does this option actually work and if so are there any current tutorials from NI on how this is done. I started thinking the functionality of any of the kontakt drums are very limited and asking myself why I keep buying these products….. It would be nice if the kontakt drums were mapped like the Maschine expansions……. Thanks for reading my frustration…..

this can be the case, it depends on what notes the instruments reacts to, like i said change transpose or change the setting in the instrument if possible - but for most instruments you should at least get something out with the settings above, then go from there, without transpose it´s note c3, maybe also an important info i forgot to mention above

    Hello,

    yes it works:

    • first you load kontakt on the first pad
    • then you select the second pad press and hold shift, press the last pad with the mouse
    • go to midi settings, set destination to the first pad, midi ch1 (or as you need it)
    • select pad two, set transpose to one, select pad three set transpose to two,……….
    • go to input audio pad settings, select pad two, set input to kontakt two, select pad three set input to kontakt three,……
    • now save this as a group preset!! you can always re-open and go from here see next step
    • open kontakt on pad one, load a drum instrument that can route to the outputs, route them as you need
    • maybe you have to change either transpose within maschine or the note within kontakt - but that depends on the instrument

I will give this a try. The instructions I reviewed before said to transpose from pad 2 first to -23, then pad 3 to -22 and so on… I will give this a go again tonight…. Thank you for your reply.
