Warning - back up your Softube NKS patches

Softube seem to have now dropped NKS support unannounced, and not only removed their factory NKS from their installers, but also uninstall them without any warning.

If you're still using them that is (they only work with the VST2 versions of their plugins anyway - and on Mac need to be run in Rosetta mode).

I converted many of their NKS to VST3 myself (see the NKS User Library) and almost all their instruments are available from Freelance Soundless.

Thanks for the heads up Kymeia. I thought I was going crazy. The new installers do remove NKS with no warning at all. Softubes website still advertises NKS support when that is no longer the case. NI should get them to stop advertising that and pull them from the NKS supported list here.

ARe we sure tho they have removed it? Maybe they have just removed the VST2 compatible library with the intent of a new VST3 version or maybe they are offering now only NKS2 compatibility and no longer supporting NKS1?

Probably need some word from Softube themselves but has always seemed strange they never rolled out to any other instruments in the last 10 years.

OK so I don't think this is just a one off mistake now - I had restored them all from backup and yesterday ran the new Softube installers for all their products and they deleted them all again.

Tbh, I'm happy they did this if they weren't going to maintain the presets. I was removing them manually all the time.

I'm still using the Modular ones in KK 2.9.6 in Rosetta mode but I made VST3 versions of the NKS for the ones I use in native mode apart from Modular anyway
