What happens if you enable/disable the 'Allow window to be resized' option in the plugin window?

It's part of Cubase and accessible via the arrow down that's at the top right.

    "pushes monitor technology beyond 2009"

    Here we go again… 🤣

The simple fact is - 1920x1080 is the current standard computer screen resolution.

These problems occur because people go out and buy screens that have too high a pixel count for the size, meaning they then have to employ scaling so they can see what they're doing. Effectively they're now back to square one (things are the same size as they would've been on a standard screen) but the scaling creates issues.

High res screens may be for sale everywhere, but that does not make them the standard.

I have reported the issue to NI support and received the following response (unedited):

“the development team are looking into this and the issue you are experiencing is possibly a bug but this is not 100% confirmed at the moment”

I am hopeful that the issue will be resolved within a reasonable timeframe and i dont must revert to a 1920x1080 monitor😊. Editing high resolutions videos and photos would very unsatisfactory.

As my screenshots demonstrate, there is no general problem with using VSTs on a high DPI display and scaling set above 100%. As shown in my original post, all the used plugins have scaling options build in and handle scaling very well.
Here is Omnisphere as one example. This is a screenshot from one Cubase window with Omnisphere inside Komplete Kontrol on the left side and Omnishere without Komplete Kontrol on the right side.

The issue appears to be exclusive to the Komplete Kontrol plugin. Komplete Kontrol itself is scaled to 125% (as it should) and additionally the plugin inside of Komplete Kontrol is scaled 125%, but Komplete Kontrol is only allocation space in its UI for 100% scaling. It would work fine, as long as Komplete Kontrol would not scale the embedded plugin again. It should have the same size as on the right side. Its interesting that the issue only exists for certain plugins, others work fine.
In my scenario with Cubase it only happens when the Cubase HiDPI setting is enabled. Disabling this setting results in blurry fonts and UIs of plugins but no cropping happens for plugins inside of Komplete Kontrol
