How to have Kontakt Player recognize Event Chasing in Digital Performer 11?

I'm using Kontakt 8 with the Spitfire Solo Strings library, in Digital Performer 11.34

I'm using key switches (with MIDI notes) to change articulations in the instruments (2 violins, viola, cello - Core Techniques). It works fine EXCEPT that Digital Performer's Event Chasing doesn't seem to work with the notes assigned to various articulations, although it works fine with MIDI notes that trigger instrument sounds.

In the Event Chasing window I have "Notes" selected which it seems should be what's being chased when I hit play, as the notes are MIDI notes.

I don't use a commercial DAW and I use other methods for switching "articulations". But I would guess "Event Chasing" is a function of your DAW that recreates the settings (cc values, notes etc) when you start playing a piece halfway through.

If you want keyswitches to work with this, you will have to ensure that your keyswitch is still playing where you break into the piece. Either hold down keyswitches when recording, or extend the note until the next keyswitch in post-production.

You could put in a DP feature request: for keyswitches only, look back in the MIDI sequence to see which keyswitch was played last. You would obviously have to tell the program in advance which notes are to be used for keyswitching.

Or you could use a different method for switching articulations.

Thanks. I looked into DP's Articulation Map feature. I doubt they'd bother having Spitfire/Kontakt switches utilize Event Chasing, given they have their own way.

    Thanks for your reply!

Would be quite easy to write a multiscript for Kontakt which would store your keyswitches in an unused cc. Would that be helpful?
